  1. This week has been better than last. I have been trying to get on the trainer but that thing is tourturous. I have been easing back into it. I have been walking on the treadmill and lifting weights some. Got good and sore Monday feeling better today though. I hope some of you are also making strides, or at least back to the baby steps.

  2. I hope you guys haven't give up. I am a long way from being ready for a tri but you guys are motivating. I have been riding my mountain bike a little and have my road bike on the trainer. When I get some more weight off I'll try to start running. I have a little holiday gainage to deal with but I feel like I'm back on track.

  3. Has everyone given up or just given up on this thread. I have been eating better and trying to get with it again without going nuts. I have been trying to help coach my son's little leauge football team and that takes up a lot of time that I was using to exercise. I went out in the middle of the day today and rode my bike 10 miles. It was the first time that I had rode in a long time and it wasn't too bad. Now for the bad news. I got on the scales today and had lost only 6 pounds in the last month. I guess that is to be expected considering my recent eating habits. Hope all of you guys are seeing some success. Let's keep pulling for each other. Thanks for all the kind words.

  5. When I started lifting earlier in the year I did light weights for 15 reps for three sets, and at least 30 minutes of continuous cardio. I now do much heavier weights for 15 reps and an hour of cardio every other day. I am much stronger and more cut. You have to do the cardio or you won't increase your fintness level. Circuit training is a good idea to tie the cardio into the weightlifting.

  6. Hollie I don't agree with what you say about maybe hammer should have had the bypass. I'm certain there was a psych evaluation involved. I didn't loose any weight the first year I was banded just like hammer. My slow start was due to my lack of commitment to the process. Hammer has taken all the right steps to continue the weight loss and has accomplished a lot in losing 80 lbs already. Hammer just has a little bit longer journey ahead of him than some of the other people with the band. Remember the bypass is no quick fix either. We are all individuals and all respond differently to all of life's stressors.
