You know you lost weight when

People don't stop and turn sideways to let you by when you are both trying to pass in a narrow walkway!!!

Ladies, What Size Jeans Do You Wear?

5'2" 194lbs. Four months out. Jeans are hard to tell what size I wear...I put on my 18's and they fit perfectly, then an hour later they are falling down to my knees ???? my 16s are too tight. Same with my non-Jean pants

    Bra sizes!

I wish I would lose weight in my breast. I'm still a 42D four months postop. I look like a cow in everything I wear because nothing fits right ????

    Stalled progress.

I'm 4 months postop and haven't lost anything in almost 2 months. Is that it for me? Or cans stalls last this long? I weighed 244 before my liquid diet, 240 postop and 202 now 4 months out.

    Nausea when smelling food...help!

Ok good, glad I'm not alone! Yes Cheerios that is so odd! Mine is mainly when I smell food other people are cooking or first thing in the morning when I wake up for the first few hours. I haven't found any solution to help with it though. I actually haven't found anything I can't stand now that I did like before But, I have heard that is really common and it happens to many people.
  7. Everything has gone absolutely perfect. I still have no complaints. Anytime I have questions I just email Nathalie and she responds back quickly. I have lost 42 pounds in 3.5 months. Good luck to you! And don't be nervous or anxious like I was, You will love Dr. Joya and his staff.
  8. I'm about 3.5 months post-op and I've been getting nauseated when I smell strong food, like when my husband makes popcorn, breakfast, coffee...etc. I get sick to my stomach. What could this be and what can make it better?
  9. This is the second month in a row this has happened so now I'm searching for answers or how to prevent/make better. I feel like during my period I can eat a lot more than I can when I'm not in it. But the day after it ends I experience nausea, especially if I drink anything or smell food. So I don't want to eat anything at all and I feel sick to my stomach. Any ideas what this could be or what could make it better? TIA
  10. I haven't told anyone (except my husband). Before the surgery I told everyone I was going on a diet, and I did...my preop diet....where I lost 10 pounds. They noticed the weight loss in my face. After surgery I told everyone I was just cutting my portion size down and exercising. I try to feed my kids when I eat around people so they aren't specifically watching me eat. It has worked so far! No one even speculates!

    Loose skin...

I use Nerium Firming cream. It has really helped my stomach.

    May Sleevers...where are you?

Dr. Joya is simply the best! I am 3 weeks postop and doing fantastic. You are going to love him. I was so nervous but once I arrived at Amerimed everything could have not gone better. The whole team is great!

Gastric Sleeve and E. Coli :)

Can you explain the type of abdominal pain you are experiencing with E. Coli? Please!
  14. I can't believe I'm saying this, but having the VSG was one of the easiest things I've ever done. Surgery went as good as it possibly could have and I passed my leak test. I am 6 days postop and have lost 10 pounds! 14 pounds total since my preop diet. Dr. Joya was absolutely amazing. Nathalie, Dr. Joya'a Nutritionist and coordinator, walked me through every single step of the process. Before surgery, each member of my surgical team came to visit me in my room which lessened my anxiety. Amerimed Hospital couldn't have been any more perfect. I had a huge room, 2 tv's and my nurses were bilingual. In fact, almost everyone I came in contact with, from admission to security, were bilingual. I did have pain, but much less than I expected, however my nurses came right in to bring my medicine any time I called. I never once vomited, although I was a little nauseated at first but that quickly lessened. I was discharged 2 days after surgery and brought to Sunset Plaza Hotel. I had my own butler who even went to pickup my prescriptions for me. I am now a firm believer in choosing the right surgeon. Dr. Joya is HIGHLY recommended.
  15. No he didn't put me on a PPI. I do, however, take Protonix on a regular basis but haven't been told to take it while in the hospital. And that's exactly how I feel...food looks so good but I think I could never eat it!
