  1. @@kiss-my-kitty Thanks so much for the update on your mom@rosey442. I am happy that she is doing well and that you have the experience to help her through. Yes, so many emotions going on days before the surgery as you recall but there is a pretty rainbow at the end of all of this I keep telling myself, lol. So excited none the less!!! Thanks for reaching out.

  3. Drinking Water is going to be a habit that I have to work on because I am so used to it. I feel dehydrated if I don't drink certain amounts and I definitely drink with meals so that will be different for me. I am looking forward to changing my life and learning new things all over again. I welcome everything that comes with this experience. Just like child birth both times, I will do it all over again in a heart beat to feel the happiness that I am feeling today. As of now, I don't have that about myself yes I have joy in everything else in my life but not with myself or within. I am so anxious for that again. Making those milestones and accomplishments for myself will be amazing... I am so proud of you and all of us here on this forum. Thanks for the updates. You have been amazing in your journey and doing the work. Thanks for keeping us updated...awesome work!
  4. Hi, Welcome and this is a very safe, supportive and warm place to be. I love this site as I have learned alot, shared more than I have with my own family and friends. I like you didn't gain weight until I was much older after having my daughter at 35 years old, then diagnosed hypothyroid the weight began from there. I have tried so many diet plans, workout strategies and fat burners, grabbers and every gemic out here. Only to gain more back and then some. I also have been diagnosed with several weight related issues, type II diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol. Then the kicker was sleep Apnea and now I am married to my C-pap machine every night. I chose to take a stand and take care of myself. I looked into weight loss surgery 3-years ago before things became so bad. I knew that I was sinking but I ran for the hills after I learned about the procedures. THINKING I can do this myself. Well I gave it my BEST try but I became a human yo-yo. So here I am... My surgery is scheduled for Friday, June 5th at 11:30am. I am so happy about my decision and will do anything that I have to do to get my health back. I am so happy that you have chosen as well. Best of luck to you on Monday and I will be watching for your posts and updates when you are able... You GO-Girl!!
  5. Wow, I am glad that you were able to get some sleep and the pain and nausea subsided. Prayers and many thoughts to you both... Keep us updated!!
  12. Hi happy to read your story. I'm a 47 year old "thick girl" also and have been proud of it. Never had a weight problem until I had my daughter in 2004. After that I found out I was hypo thyroid and the weight keep piling on. I kept eating feeling lonely, depressed that nothing I ever did I could lose. Then my meds were finally working for me & my hypothyroidism became "controlled"... I lost 65 pounds on my own but within 6mos to a year, new boyfriend who loves to take me out, cook, and have a good time I gained it all bac plus some... That was 3yrs ago & the scale keeps climbing... Same boyfriend though whose 6'4, 160 pounds lol... Anyway I'm now Type II diabetic, high cholesterol, sleep apnea (on C-pap) machine and high blood pressure because of my weight. I looked into weigh loss surgery a few years ago before I developed medical issues but it terrified me at the informational session. I ran for the hills. I tried my hardest to lose the weight. After yo-yo diet after yo-yo diet, I made another appointment with the bariatric team back in March and now my surgery is June 5th. Next Friday!!! I am so grateful & nerves all over the place. But can't wait to get this weight off and keep it off & off these meds. I'm doing preop diet until my surgery next week but I'm READY!!! Congrats and I'm so happy that you are here. Keep in touch & add me as a friend!
  13. Lol, are you feeling hungry though? Did the after effects of anesthesia make u feel nauseous? I hear it does. I'm asking for the patch behind the ear, lol.
  14. @@mmrennau I agree. I am scheduled for June 5th and I feel the exact same as I felt being pregnant with both of my children. Anxious, excited and thinking about the future but terrified of whats to come as well. I know this is the best choice for me. I am Type II diabetic, high cholesteral, sleep apnea (on C-Pap machine) & high blood pressure. Enough is enough I will do ANYTHING for a healithier life... I am so excited and feel blessed for us all.
  15. @alilove2631... So glad to hear that everything went well. Are you able to drink any Water, Protein or broth? I am glad that you are up walking around.
  16. @Beauty+5... Yep I have been drinking EAS pre-made. I love the chocolate and they can be purchased at Walgreens also.
  17. Hello my friends. I had an appointment with my NUT and Surgeon today. We were discussing the pre-op and post-op requirements since I will start May preparing for surgery. I would like a head start in trying Protein shakes and stocking up. Although I have gotten suggestions from my NUT, I would like to hear from the professionals (you guys) who have actually had to buy and drink them regularly. Please let me know experiences, good or bad. I know everyone is different but this is hard enough and if I can get through one hurdle easier it is worth it. THANK EVERYONE and HAPPY SHEDDING!!!

    Walking in the rain

@SusanDavenporr2015. I am so proud of your progress. Thanks for the story it made me smile and giggle hearing about those "Asian monsoons". I have discovered the workout videos on television. I have x-finity and I go on demand where there are 100's of videos anytime 24hrs a day. Walking videos, strength training, cardio, pilates, yoga and I can go on and on... There is no excuse and I can't wait until after my surgery when I can REALLY move around... Julian Michaels look out. I will make it through your entire video without stopping or passing out, lol. Thanks for sharing!!
