Band to Sleeve lose more slowly?

I'm searching this site because I'm a band to sleeve convert. My conversion was April 6. I've lost 32 pounds according to scale this morning. I'm frustrated because the scale has been stuck (within 2 pounds) for about 6 weeks. At this point, I do think it will be slower but I also know that I need to take some accountability. I need to up my exercise AND I need to watch my food more closely - not the amount really but the type ... ground beef, tuna, shredded chicken - all good protein-wise but not chunky enough to stick with me. Baby carrots have become my comparison "tool" as they are really filling & stay with me a good amount of time. Also, I've found I need some crunch. So - I'm still looking for the solution to that need (except for vegs). I will say that I have only overdone it about 3 times ... cause it is miserable! Not like band stick miserable ... more like "I just had a whole Thanksgiving dinner" but it was only 1/2 cup. I'm struggling with eye/head hunger & the correlation of the Tiny Tummy. So, I'll just Keep Calm & Learn on!

    Advice please band to sleeve

Banded in Dec 2010. Lost 76 pounds - gained back 20. Lots of trouble last 1 1/2 years with sinus & band blockages. So April 6 - had band to sleeve revision - same operation. So far - so good. Still on liquids but am very pleased with surgery - lost 20 lbs so far. Had surgery in moring & came home that afternoon. Took 1 week off work for recovery & then took it very easy 1st week back to work. This week - feeling much more "like myself" energy coming back, etc. Challenge to get all Protein in (no different than band) & challenge to get all liquids in. It was a GREAT decision for me. Good luck on making your decision.

    VSG and a Hernia Repair

I just had my lapband to sleeve revision on Monday. When I had my lapband, the Dr discovered a hiatal hernia & repaired it. Never had GERD prior to that so it was a surprise. I did start taking Omeprazole daily about 2 years in to my lapband. With my revision, he repaired the hernia again & I'm starting to take Pepcid. Based on my previous experience, all should heal fine. Driving - I've always been told that as long as you are off your pain meds & you can slam on your brakes with no problem - you should be OK. Before, I've practiced slamming on the brakes which car isn't running & parked. I plan to do the same thing this weekend as I need to drive next week. Good Luck!

    Protein

I'm currently on day 4 after revision surgery. The "trick" I've currently hit on is adding Crystal Light to Isopure. Improves the taste significantly!! This is one of the only ways I know to get 40g in at this point. I also just ordered some GENEPRO Protein powder based on what everyone is saying. It is very hard for me to get the liquids & protein in - but I'm determined.
  5. Thanks for posting this. My husband & I love cruising. We went on one end of Feb & my surgery was this past Monday. I'm looking forward to our next one whenever that is & your post certainly helped give me some ideas.

Band to sleeve in one procedure

I had band to sleeve revision on Monday (4/6). All went well - repaired hiatal hernia & had quite a bit of scar tissue. With band but Dr was able to complete all in one procedure. Given that I'm about 48 hours of surgery, I'm doing really well. My insurance covered the revision-Aetna.
