November 4th here! Dr. Ariel Ortiz. I am on Atkins for the next 3 weeks then the two week pre-op.
Are you all hearing your friends and family's begging you to not go to Mexico too? They should know how much I research by now!

Can you bring powders? I doubt they'll let you take liquids. Or pick some up in San Diego. Buy a Water after you go through security.

You can't take liquids unless you check luggage. Pick them up in San Diego.

Well it has finally come. I got my date of Nov 3rd. Can't believe they just called me a week ago stating they have the paperwork and they are ready to go. They scheduled all my tests and appointments but forgot to tell me I need to start my liquid diet TOMORROW. Glad I had this forum to keep me on track.

I can't wait to JUST SIT on a bench or a folding chair without having to gauge its ability to hold my weight.

What's everyone buying so far for post-op? I haven't started yet but I know I'll be getting Biotin for the hair, injury chicken flavored Protein.
What else?

I'm getting sleeved on November 5th. That's less than a month away. I am excited and nervous to start this journey.

HopeandAgony, glad to hear that I am not alone. I am definitely going through with the surgery as well. I read about some people that are making a post surgery 'bucket list' of things that they want to do after surgery that they were not able to do before surgery. I like that idea. I think I am going to do this. I'm totally looking forward to being able to do what the "normal" weight people can do. I'm sure my husband is excited about that too! Keep in touch and good luck to everyone! I know it is going to be hard, emotional, scary and about a hundred other things, but we can do this!!! We deserve it!!!

We will all be missing thanksgiving dinner. How are you guys coping with that?
For me, Ive never been a big thanksgiving dinner fan so that day will be fine for me. I think it'll be smaller things like holiday parties w hors doeuvres that'll mess w my head a little lol

Congrats!! I think we are all going to feel the same at one point or another in the next few weeks. For me, it'll probably be when I get on the plane to Mexico.

Just got my call. November 16th. I feel like I'm going to throw up and poop my pants at the same time. I've been on journey for 8 long months and now I am terrified. I feel like I have a lump in my throat!!!

surgery date is November 2. Start my liquid diet on Oct 19th. Nervous but excited.

I'm excited now but the terror will come once I'm on a plane and know it's really happening lol

I was informed yesterday that my insurance was approved for 11/19. I was a little bit scared after I got the call from my doctors office to schedule surgery and my final pre-op and all post-op appointments along with pre-surgery labs and X-rays but I am keeping my eye on the prize and looking forward to living a healthier life.

I'm hoping for Nov 17. I'm in Houston, Tx.

I think you look amazing and should stop. Even if you lose 5 lbs, you will see something else and then want another 5 gone. It's a vicious cycle. I believe it's time to stop and enjoy maintenance now as a beautiful and thin woman.
