  1. Thanks Y'all! I did contact my doctor, and she said it was completely normal. As I get more active, that muscle will have pains. She said I will have ups and downs for 4-6 weeks, until it heals. I feel better today! ~~Natalie

    Is it normal...

I'm having the same issue. I am almost 3 weeks post op and just started to have more pain in my large incision, burning, like stretching pain. No puss, discharge, or heat though. I'm calling doc tomorrow. Ugh! I was doing so well too. I do have a toddler, so I may have overdone it!

    Call the Bariatrics police!

Confession time: I am 2.5 weeks post op, and had a Margarita at 2 wks and IT WAS SOO GOOD!! ????. It didn't affect me any differently either.

I'm 2 1/2 weeks post op, and cottage cheese and guacamole were my first 2 favs! Went down well as long as i ate slow small bites. Good luck!

Houston TX Area Surgeons & Costs

By the way, I still haven't found the absolute total of my out of pocket yet. I am 2 weeks post op, and I had to come up with half of my cost at time of surgery, which was $2400!! I wasn't expecting it to be this expensive, which is around $5000 out of pocket, after my Cigna insurance pays their 70%. I'm not to happy, but at least I had the surgery, and happy with my results so far. I'm doing good, and it will be worth it later!

    Spicy food anyone?

Thank you so much for asking this question!! I am 2 weeks post op, and have always been a HUGE spice nut! I can't wait to eat crawfish! We have a crawfish boil this weekend to attend, and I want some badly, but kinda scared. I also love me some Franks Hot Sauce, and Tony Cachere's seasoning!
  8. I can ONLY watch it, if my belly is full! lol

    2nd week post op

Day 8 for me and I just moved to creamed soups from only clear liquids. I tried broccoli cheese soup today and am laying here in misery. Been miserable for hours over a couple of spoonfuls. It's really runny too not thick. I want it so bad!!
  10. I'm day 8 and still struggling to get 1 shake down in a few hours! You are not alone.
  11. I am having the same issue! Commercials, Pinterest, Facebook, and my Son's girlfriend keeps cooking these gourmet meals!! Ugh!! I am now wanting food badly!!
  12. I have a 21 month old and my husband and older boys have helped me greatly!! I am 8 days post op and still need help lifting my Son into high chair, picking up toys, bathing etc. I have been able to do other things with him but it hasn't been easy. I can't really bend over for anything, nor lift him! I have made sure someone is with me at all times during recovery if I have my Son around. Hope this helps. Good luck!

When can I have wine? Lol

Well.......I ended up going to dinner and having a little chicken tortilla Soup (only liquid) and a Margarita on the rocks! I probably shouldn't have, but I did and I didn't have any problems at all and I'm over that craving. I know it wasn't in my best interest, but it's done, and I suffered no problems. Thanks for your feedback although, I'm a bad listener I guess ????

    Pre-op diet and phentermine

@@Kristomoto When I went to pre-op appt a couple weeks ago, my nurse was doing my EKG and asked if I had taken Phentermine before, I said yes, although it had been about 6 months ago. She said there are some Anesthesiologist that won't perform surgery if you've been on them right before surgery because a patient died on them. It caused her heartbeat to be irregular and put her in cardiac arrest. I was very glad I had stopped taking them. Just wanted to share, but all docs are different. I was amazed she knew from my EKG. That alarms me. It will always show up she said.

    Getting sleeved in the morning!

@@erose321 I'm on the same diet as you. I'm so ready for some purée foods. I finally started to actually crave food yesterday. Tomorrow is my 10 yr wedding anniversary and I am trying to find a Soup that is acceptable at a restaurant so me and my husband can go to dinner to Celebrate. I'm thinking Won Ton Soup. I've lost 6 lbs since surgery too.

    Any April Sleevers?

Good luck to the sleevers today!! I'm 6 days post op and feeling good!
  17. I'm 4 days post op and am only on clear fluids and protein shakes. I had my dr follow up and learned I could swallow my Prilosec capsule, so when I got home I took my med. It immediately burned going down. After napping, I woke up with crazy burning in my esophagus and tummy that comes and goes. I took a gasX strip and it worked for about 30 minutes then it came back. Any suggestions? Ouchie!
  18. @@BLERDgirl I think you are right. I'll email her and see if she suggests something different. I took some Tums and feeling a bit better now.
  19. My doctor is the one that told me to swallow them. I was crushing them in previous days. I think I will go back to crushing for awhile longer.

    My Surgery is on Thursday!

I am now at 4 day postop too. I am still very nauseous and sore! I'm struggling badly getting liquids down. Every sip just makes my tummy gurgle and dry heave. I'm on Tylenol3, Phenergan, Carafate, and my reg other meds. Looking forward to some relief soon.
  24. I just had surgery 4/23 and am finding even a sip of water makes me dry heave. It hurts so bad. Not sure how I will get my liquids in today. I'm very scared. The nausea is killer!
