OK, I'm back. What did I miss??
-
One of these days, I'm going to stay on the wagon. One day.

One thing is, I have joined the 4th of July Challenge. It has been a while since I have joined a challenge. But it is a start. So lets do that together or at least have our own weekly check in. What do we think? I need to be held accountable and am dying for support. I have to do a better job at finding a consistent support group to attend. But what else can we do? @jane13 @WLSResources/ClothingExch

"...get those last few pounds off..." Oh, Jane, if you really mean anything that can conceivably be considered a "few, (like under a ton)" you're way far ahead of me. I undid most of my good work and it's been a long time since I did that.
Tanika, you'll make your own decision, of course, but I'm generally opposed to anyone doing liquids-only unless there's a medical reason. Losing weight should be joyful, which includes eating good food in sane, appropriate amounts. To do liquids in place of real, solid food is too much self-imposed punishment to my way of thinking. You want to deal with the regain, of course, but why be unhappy in the process?

The scale said 212!!! Can you believe it?! I am soooooo happy!
-
18 pounds away from my first MAJOR goal. Current weight is 217, give or take 2-3 pounds for the last 2 weeks. 199 feels so far away, but I know I can do it. But cookies and wine taste good again. And my firm "no" to junk has changed to "maybe" and "just a sip" or "cut a little off the corner." Sigh. I truly have no business sitting at 217 for so long. I had such a solid plan. And my monthly medical loan is reminder enough of my weight loss journey. I need to get to together, people!

OMG @jane13 !! I'm so proud of YOU!!!
-
I hear you @Tanika81, but you can do it!

During a physical in 1998 before starting college, I weighed 225. Today, 17 years later I weigh 223 and still losing. This definitely a life changing journey!

@Tanika81 that's my goal too!

@jane13 YAAAAAY!! We've go this! Not too much further to go!
-
Feeling so, so, so, soooooo much better this week! Trying to get back on the "Loser Train" after a 2lb gain last week. I'm feeling motivated
-
What a difference a day makes! Getting myself back on track one day at a time! Avoided brownies, went to a support group, and tried on some awesome size 16 pants! I'm getting it together, slowly but surely.

Aww! Thanks @emma4884, I needed that hug! Here's one back :-)
And thank you, @pink dahlia, @jane13, and @Mountaingal for all of your support. I'm coming out of my funk slowly but surely. The support group was fine but trying on those clothes put me over the top. In the mirror, I didn't see the 299 lbs woman I had seen a few days ago. I just saw me and my weight loss and it made me smile. I just need to keep pushing forward! Thanks guys!

Hey there, hope you're feeling better today, I also noticed you're a Victim s Witness Advocate, ( Wow ! Thank you ! ) could it be the job thats causing you to snack more ? I think maybe stress eating ? Just a thought. Hope the support group can help you today, keep us posted. Again, great job on your weight loss ! Keep it up ! You can do it !

You make my heart smile, @pink_dahlia. Thank you. My job has been fine lately. I'm good at detaching. Plus, I just returned to the office on 8/3 after being away in Peru for a few weeks. So I'm thinking that it is not work related. I'm down on myself from time to time for the most asinine reasons. This time I can't quite figure out why and am worried that I may derail my weightloss progress by slipping back to old food behaviors. I was doing so well at feeling satisfied, cutting out breads, pasta, and rice and non-beneficial foods. But suddenly all bets are off. My carb count this week has been through the roof. I saw my body as I walked passed a glass door in the courthouse and almost died. Though I know it isn't true or possible, I feel as if my face and body have gone right back to where I started. And I feel so sad. I just don't want to mess up. My mind and health can't afford it.p

Ok, im not a psychology Dr. , so im purely guessing here. If you're slipping back into "old behaviors " is it because those behaviors are comfortable and familiar ? Is there something new or scary in your life ? Because if there is, alot of people go to a safe, familiar thing to comfort themselves. With you, maybe carbs are your happy food ? You just came back from Peru , (a very different environment ) , maybe you're looking for something tht makes you feel safe and happy ? Just a thought. Maybe find something non food related ? Anyway s, hope tomorrow is much better for you, sending good karma your way !!! Hugs !!

@Tanika81 - wow you have lost 72lbs!!! that's awesome. Did you join the Labor Day Challenge? I hit my 50 lbs loss mark this morning!
-
YES!!! @jane13 Can you believe it?!? And congratulations to you!! Do you do milestone celebrations?
-
@Tanika81 - No my milestone was seeing the number 216 on the darn scale and then when I started to get dressed my shorts kept falling down. I had gone through my clothes about a month ago and decided the ones I have on now were too tight and this morning they fit, with room!
-
I'm dying for a scale.... I haven't been on a scale in almost 3 weeks and its making me crazy! I know I've lost weight, but how much?! I need a scale ASAP! Can't wait to get back home.

@Tanika81, let me know what you think. If you're using store-bought mozzarella, omit the extra salt. And I recommend using the goat cheese crust but with cream cheese (to make it cheaper) for a first outing if you haven't had it yet.

I'm watching "600 Pound Mom" on TLC and unsure of how to feel. The surgeon refused to do bypass surgery on the subject after she had gained 100+ during her pre-op. Then she gained an additional 16 lbs after she was approved for surgery. I want her to live but clearly there is much going on with this woman. I don't know.
-
@Djmohr ok... have you watched the end yet? If not, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER. I didn't want to spoil it for you if you hadn't watched it yet. Even though I knew she was in trouble from the very start, I was devastated when it said that she had died. I felt terrible for how her life ended, her children, etc. Poor thing. And shame on those doctor's for going against their better judgement. I know that they were trying to help her save her life, but you still have to follow your gut and intuition. Very sad.

OK, crying AGAIN!!! So over my up/down mood! Never been a crier. But now I'm a faucet!
