Hello everybody my name is David. I have been battling my weight loss ever since I got out of high school in 1994, and stopped playing sports regularly. I have lost and gained more weight than I care to calculate. In 2010 I dedicated my self to fitness and started using Max Muscle products and worked with their nutritionist to drop the weight and at the same time kept a lot of my muscle mass. In 2011 I joined the Army to become an Infantryman. Unfortunately I got injured during Basic Training and was medically discharged. Due to the injuries and being told by the Dr. To not do anything I gained all of my weight back and then some. Topping out at 397 lbs that is the most I ever weighed. It affected all aspects of my life and I knew It was time for a permanent change. I had my surgery done at the VA in Long Beach CA. on 24 October 2014. The day of surgery I was 363 lbs! I was nervous like all of us were, scared that I was not going to be successful I am not going to be able to drink soda anymore... 5 months later I have lost over 100 lbs and my lifestyle is back to the way it was pre-injury. I am completely of of the pain meds and blood-pressure meds that I was taking multiple times a day. I go to the gym multiple times a week and when not in the gym I am very active with my athletes (I am a high school football and baseball coach). Knock on wood I have not had any complications with anything, I followed my post-op "bible" like it was the gosple And things are all working out pretty well. There have been some hard times mentally, like Christmas and New Year not being able to have a celebratory drink with the family. Or having the the satisfaction of finishing my plate. My biggest issue has been learning to eat slowly, I have always been a fast water and that has been the toughest thing I have dealt with. I feel this is the best decision I have ever made and would do it again if I had to.
