    April bypass buddies.

6m post op this week and down 75 lbs, just got back from a 2 w once in a lifetime trip to China and Tibet. Lost 1 lb ( no gain, yay) and no seat belt extenders, walked alot and climbed 21 stories to a palace, did things I would never have been able to do 6 m ago. I am content with slow and steady losses. sw 294.4 Cw 219.8

    April bypass buddies.

Surg date 4/14/15 Sw 294.4 Cw 230 I stalled all of Aug at 235-237 (lost like 2-3 lbs the whole month!) was frustrating.concluded I am a slow loser, which is ok, but these stalls are nerve racking! Exercising more, did a 19 mt mile! Walking about 40-45 mts per day now. Chicken still sticks,up to about 4 oz food per meal-2 pz of which is prot. Calorie intake in the 700-800s. Not sure if that is still low at this point.fluid intake still not the greatest. Drank 2 c of coffee the other day, need to stop this. How is everyone doing?

So my scale broke....i was thinking how great I was doing and the scale quit working.....on getting a new one it was 10 lbs heavier!!! My husband's weight on the new on was correct. I was soo discouraged. So I have been in this stall for 17 days, staying about same wt. so frustrated. 60 lbs down in 4 mos this week but don't know what's wrong. Eating the same that was giving me 3 lbs per weeks losses. Nothing has changed with fluids, prot and vits. Have been taking some more walks but nothing strenuous. How many stalls can we expect.?

    It Works wraps

The mechanism is shrink wrapping the skin and with compression it makes reabsorbsorption of the lymph and water in the tissues of the skin possible, so after taking off the wrap you will see more definition of the muscles underneath because the swelling of fluid in the skin layer is squeezed and enters the blood stream. sort of like wearing compression hose limits swelling....So they recommend to drink plenty of fluids after wrapping to help with excretion. now i have not had it last, used it at least 8-10 x on belly, upper arms, thighs, and also the facial/neck...can see some subtle difference after wrapping but it does not get rid of the fat layer, just the fluid and lymph in the skin,......Is good short term for an event or something.

  9. I was carrying a steel chafing dish in my foyer, tripped and the dish hit a large ceramic pot which shattered and i fell onto a broken corner, lacerating my neck and facial vein, there was blood everywhere. My friend was there and called the ambulance. had emergency surgery. Was scary, knew it was my weight that caused me to fall soo hard. Felt embarrassed in front of my friend as the nurse doing intake asked what I weighed... in the 280s. The next month went to WLS seminar.

    All in one Multivitamin

Was told the gummies don't have vit B1 in them, which we need with low caloric intake. So i take BA multi vit, cal and vit D liq from Wellesse , B1, iron, omeprazole and Monthly B 12 shots
  11. This week it was 3 mos since surgery. Looking back it feels like time went really fast but I know in the day to day it didn;t feel like it. I am in a routine, food wise, eating the same things. Can't tolerate chicken, any bread and throw up if eating too fast or more than 3 oz per meal. No cravings and really no hunger. I stalled at 3 weeks post-op for about 12 days but since then has been steady, about 3 lbs a week or 10-13 lbs a month. Fluids are still an issue and struggle to get in the recommended 64 oz/d. Protein intake avg around 60 g/d and still trying to get it up. Not good at taking my Calcium and multivit every day but know I need to. 50 lbs is good I think and people are noticing and hope to keep chugging away. Dropped 3 pants sizes. Finally got the surgery EOB and not happy how much I have to pay after what insurance covered, but it has been worth it. Hope all April buddies are doing great!!

  13. I told only my husband and kids. Having been on multiple diets ( that people knew I was doing) and failing soo many times didn't want any gossip. I am 9 weeks out and have had multiple get togethers, said i was doing low carb ( which is true) and cutting portion sizes. In large groups, the eating is not soo noticeable. People have noticed the 40 lb wt loss and attribute it to my "new " diet. My friend threw my husband and I a surprise 25th anniversary party and told everyone to bring low fat, high protein dishes! What a surprise when they see that this time it will be for good. So do what is comfortable to you. And how much support u need from others. My husband and kids are super supportive and that's all I need. Good luck!

How long were you off work?

I took 4 weeks off. Had a lot of fatigue and mental fogginess due to decreased calories. Was not sharp at all and would have been a problem at work.

2 oz wendys chili and 1/4 baked potato. The only thing I tolerated all day today.
  24. I am one month out and on pureed foods. This week i have been nauseous when looking at my food or certain smells. Anytime I eat a bite a few minutes later i am gagging and retching. feels like a lump at lower chest/pouch area. I am able to swallow meds, and water ok , just the food. Is this a stricture or something? Feels like morning sickness, (i am on my period now) where waves of nausea hits at weird times, like when i was loading the washing machine. No appetite to eat. Thinking of just drinking my protein shakes. advice?
