    150's....Woop Woop

    Congratulations!
  2. Has anyone tried the Quest Protein chips? What did you think? I got some and I thought that they were OK. I just like the fact that I can have a few and it satisfies my craving while getting some protein too.

How did you deal with hair loss?

Clementine Sky, Sorry for the delayed response. I am traveling. The top piece is great! I love it and it feels incredibly natural. I have been wearing it for several weeks and no one can tell at all. It is just at the top of my scalp so I can still brush my hair normally as long as I don't start right at my part. I can even put it up in a ponytail. My hair looks better than ever even though I am losing a lot of hair right now. I got this piece when I first started losing so even though my hair has gotten a lot thinner, no one has noticed. I don't want to endorse a product per say but I got an Easipart human hair top piece. ????
  4. Thanks so much for the feedback! I have been so focused on getting all my protein in I never focused on there being a down side. Lol. I am going to take it down to 60-70 and see how it goes.
  5. I just got a call from my doctor's office with lab results from my 4 month check-up. I was told that my Protein is too high and I should back off of it. I have been very good about getting in 80 g of protein a day, but rarely go over 100. I am really surprised at this directive since everything I read/hear always says to get 80-100 protein. Is there such a thing as too much protein?

How did you deal with hair loss?

Is is actually pretty easy to work with. It just has 4 clips and snaps on top of my hair/head. I do flat Iron my own hair before putting it on. Also, I have to wash and condition it once a week. The plus is that I am now able to skip a day of washing my own hair (less loss maybe?) because it covers the roots at my scalp.

How did you deal with hair loss?

Sleevy, I posted this in the Ladies room so I don't expect a lot of guys to comment. You might want to repost in the guys room.

    Water bottles

I use the Eddy by Camelbak. The built-in straw has a bite closure which prevents air from getting into the straw.

How did you deal with hair loss?

I am in the same boat. Fine hair that was already thinning and I was already trying to cover my loss on top. Now that is shedding a lot I worry about how it looks. I too worry about going bald since I am only one month into the hair loss and most are saying it goes for a while. For now I am opting for the topper. I know everyone is different but I feel better with it than without.
  10. I am almost 3 months out and I have noticed that I am bruising very easily and the bruises are taking a long time to heal. What vitamin(s) might I be deficient in? I am taking a bariatric complete Vitamin, extra D3, B12, Biotin and Iron. Apparently my blood work at 6 weeks came back just fine. Any ideas?

How did you deal with hair loss?

Thanks for all the feedback. I was looking at just cutting it, but I was already thinning on top prior to surgery. I am very envious of those that started with thick hair.???? I am concerned that if I do lose 50% or more of my hair I will start to look ill. As I said earlier, It is already really noticeable without the topper. I am just hoping my hair loss stops before the topper starts looking odd. ????. To answer a previous question, I did spend $350 on this, but I thought it was worth it for my self esteem. ????

How did you deal with hair loss?

Sorry, couldn't get photo to load before.
  13. So I am almost 4 months out. The first few months I felt a little like super woman with my ability to say no to food and stay on the straight and narrow. In the last two weeks that has all changed. I am sure it is head hunger, but I have started craving more food (i.e. Carbs and sweets). I am curious when it kicked in for others...
  14. I would really check with your doctor. There is no way I could do just clear liquids for two weeks pre-op. ???? I would have cheated too.
  15. I so agree! Labor Day weekend didn't help. ????. Oh well... I do like the way things are fitting, I am trying to focus on that.
  16. Fantastic! Great job.

    Roller coaster?

Interesting topic. . I guess my first question is what kind of stomach did you have for roller coasters before the surgery? I personally had a stomach that could take anything, and even after surgery I'm pretty sure I could handle a roller coaster without an issue as long as I hadn't just eaten. That being said, everyone seems to be a little different on these type of things. I am curious to hear if anyone has ridden one post op.
  18. I am actually 4 months post op now. My first week after surgery was Clear liquids. But honestly my new tummy didnt want much else. Your just trying to stay hydrated. Second week I think it took me all day to drink one premier Protein drink. By week 3 I could get in 2 Protein drinks a day. By week 4 I started on soft foods if they were well chewed. I found Greek yogurt was easy to get down. . Talk to your surgeon. Every surgeon seems to have slightly different approaches. If you trust them to do the surgery, trust them on the diet too. . P.s. I still do a premier Protein Drink most weekday morning to make sure I get my protein in. Can't stress enough how important getting the protein in is! That is what is going to make your recovery go better. Your body needs it to repair itself.
  19. Just curious why you are on a clear liquid pre-op diet? Mine was protien shakes (I.e. Not clear). Be sure you are still getting plenty of protein. It will help with the cravings and hunger. I didn't haven to do a clear liquid diet until post op.

    Hi

Welcome. Keep us updated on how things are going for you. The pre-diet can be a challenge, but it is worth it to stay on track. Good luck with surgery.
  21. Hi May Sleevers I thought by now everyone sleeved in May would probably have settled into a bit more of a routine or at least gotten past some of the initial surgery questions. I imagine some of us have some great NSV's as well as some challenges. Soo.....I thought I would send up a general question to get a discussion started. I would love to hear how everyone else is doing. I am going to post my progress/thoughts below.
  22. Nerves are natural for all of us I think. I had all those same questions/concerns. Just remember this is your journey and you need to be comfortable with your decision. I just needed to talk to a few friends who had the surgery and they helped ease my fears. Good luck with your journey. .

    Caffeine

My doc said to limit myself to no more than 1 cup of coffee a day as long as I didn't have issues. I drank it weak for awhile but at 4 months out I can drink fully leaded coffee with no issues. In fact on weekends I make lattes with fair life milk instead of doing a protien shake.

    Protein

I like all the same ones as @@Inner Surfer Girl. . I would add UNJURY chicken soup for a non-sweet option.
