  1. Chell, welcome I'm also from the Chattanoga area!
  2. Thats sooo funny, there are a million yoga classes around me and no Pilates. I really wanted to try Pilates!!! I'm actually really flexible for a fat chick:biggrin2:. I'm afraid to take a yoga class, I think I would be laughing the whole time! I'm not very good at relaxing like you are supposed to for that. I think I'm going to try the couch to 5K thing. It might mess up my minutes for the March challenge though... I don't know, I'm just gona shake my booty.:smile2:
  3. Yesterday... B-slept late L- 3 slices Kraft cheese, 18 whole wheat crackers:sad: D- 3 oz grouper, 1/2 cup peas and corn S-1 cup 0% greek yogurt, 4 strawberries mixed in.
  4. I want to do Pilates so bad!! I haven't been able to find a class yet. There is a belly dancing class around me though. It doesn't start until May, think I'm gonna have to try it!!
  5. Sounds official enough to me. Maybe we can go ahead and make a plan to increase it monthly or something as we get more svelte. I love that word, I try to use it at every open opportunity!!
  6. I'm up for anything, but not very creative. How do we do this, a mileage in a month challenge?? I'm up for anything.
  7. Ang, Sorry you're gettin down. This too shall pass, just climb back on the horse! Am I remembering correctly that you haven't had a fill yet? It should get a little better after you have a fill. Do you have a J&J band or a Lap-Band?? The reason I ask is because I have the J&J band and I didn't get any restriction from my first fill. I want to give you hope, but not false hope, make sense? I've been really down for the past week. I haven't lost any weight the past 2 weeks and I'm so afraid that when I go back for my second fill I will not have lost anything. I finally got my a$$ in gear a the first of the week and dusted my treadmill off. Now I haven't been able to workout all week due to tooth problems (culminated into a root canal yesterday). I actually can't wait to get back on the treadmill. This is going to be hard for us, but we can do it together!! I'm here for you whenever!!
  8. Georgia, I actually get mine from a Natural Foods store in downtown Chattanooga. I have not seen it at Wal-Mart or Bi-Lo (my local supermarket chain), I would say it is available at Publix (there's one opening soon around me). It hasn't made the leap to chain stores yet. Their website is really informative, Welcome to FAGE USA . Fage is just the brand name that is available to me. I would definately recommend it!! When I first bought it I tried the Total (whole milk), 2% and the 0%. I usually find that I can't stomach the fat free stuff, but I can't tell the difference with this yogurt! So 1 cup of the 0% has 120 calories, 0 g fat, 6 carbs, and 20 grams of protein. Good luck on finding it!
  9. Embarrassed to post what I ate today:embaressed_smile:. Root canal went fine. I had never had one before so I was really worried. Opted for the nitrous:thumbup:, worth every penny. Back on track tomorrow!! Can't wait till another fill. As for the full liquid phase, I lived off yogurt and pudding! Try greek yogurt, its packed with protein and low in calories, also thicker than other yogurt so much more filling!!
  10. Yesterday.... B- 2 slices cheddar cheese, 16 whole wheat crackers L- 10 grapes D- 1 cup greek yogurt, handfull granola, 1 tbsp honey, 1/2 cup watermelon Did I mention I'm getting a root canal in an hour!!
  11. LJM, Just want to wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery with your surgery!!! Can't wait to see/hear about your results!!!
  12. Sue, I buy the Fage brand greek yogurt at my local natural foods store. I buy the 0% kind. Heres the stats for a 1 cup serving: Calories-120 Fat- 0 grams Protein- 20 grams Carbs- 9 grams ( all sugars, no fiber) I would compare the consistency to sour cream. Its thick and really, really smooth. I don't really like to eat it alone, I like to put a little honey, fruit, or granola with it. Hope this helps!!
  13. Diane, A NSV is a non-scale victory.
  14. Yesterday.... B-1 packet maple and brown sugar oatmeal S- 1 oz shaved turkey breast, 4 strawberries L- 4 oz shaved turkey breast, Land olakes cheese snack D- 1 cup homemade spaghetti
  15. I've never been very good at getting rid of the clothes I don't wear. Of course it's helping me out a little right now. I have everything in my closet from a 20 to a 12. Most all of my clothes are not trendy, so they don't really go out of style. They just don't make trendy clothes for amazons. I'm already considering getting rid of my size 20 clothes. So if there's anyone out there interested in some size 20 tall clothes, I'll probably be parting with them soon. Its still hard for me to let go... I'm a pack rat!
  16. Well, I didn't do any research, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night :smile2::tt2::tt2::sad: Sorry, couldn't resist.
  17. Congrats to Everybody!!! I say that while I sit in front of my computer wearing jeans that were tight on me 2 years ago and now they are not only comfortable, but a little baggy in the booty!!!:smile2:
  18. My favorites are Breakfast- Fage Greek 0% yogurt with a tablespoon of honey Lunch- packet of albacore tuna with strawberries Snack- I'm addicted to Land O'lakes little blocks of cheese (80 calories), or a handful of nuts
  19. I'm very happy Michelle that you talked to your surgeon about this. I have sat back and watched this thread for awhile now. I have a Realize band. I am very happy with my band. My doc is one of the docs that Isuza/Redstar has previously slammed. I am very trustful of my doctor and his decision to place the Realize in me. I haven't doubted its adequacy for the first time. It was not my choice which band I was fitted with, though given the choice before or after surgery I would have picked the Realize hands down. Isuza/Redstar, this post is NOT FOR YOU. I do not care to entertain your comments about how much of a moron that I am for preferring the realize band. I am a highly educated, independent minded woman. I did/do my OWN research. I do not pick and choose random numbers out of context to support my cause. As previously stated this forum is for SUPPORT. We are not here to educate others on medical studies, statistics or techniques. We are here to share our own personal experiences so that others might take comfort in knowing that what is happening to them is normal. We are here to make others feel good in knowing that there are a lot of others going through the same thing as they are.
  20. Thats so awesome Manatee!!! You can call me Lola Heaven Hooter!!:smile2:
  21. How bout Ginger Kitten
  22. Unfortunately no its not a joke. If you will look back to the beginning of the thread there is a link to the news story.
  23. I saw Alton Brown (food network) make protein bars on his show once. Have I mentioned I'm addicted to food network? I had to stay away from it when I was on my post op diet!!! As Ralphie May says "its like porn for fat people"!!
  24. Absolutely, Thanks for all the recipes you've posted GeorgiaGirl, I haven't tried them yet because I just stumbled across this area. I will try and get some of my other recipes on here soon.
  25. I made up last night. It turned out really good. 3 medium size zucchini sliced thin (I use a mandolin) 2 cloves garlic 1 teaspoon dried italian seasoning 1 can of diced tomatoes (regular size, I'm guessing 14 oz) Parmesan cheese for topping Heat a small amount of EVOO in a sautee pan, when heated add the 2 cloves of minced garlic. Add italian seasoning to pan. Saute about 2 minutes (just don't burn the garlic!) Add thinly sliced zucchini to the pan. Saute for about 8 minutes or until "crisp-tender". Stir in the can of tomatoes. Let that cook for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over it in the pan (as much as you want according to your calories!).
