  1. I really respect the up front and honest approach. If someone asks I tell them the truth. And not everyone I have encountered is nice. Some have some really harsh comments or talk behind my back, I got some really thick skin over the last 8 months. In the long run I have grown to have the opinion of what they think or say I don't really care. I am healthy having a blast clothes shopping and I feel great! Good luck to you.
  2. Just be absolutely sure it is what you want......there is no turning back once it's done. Personally if one qualifies I am not sure why you wouldn't want it. I made my mind up after researching the day I went to the seminar. It's an awesome life. yes there are some difficult times but well worth it in the end. Good luck with your decision.
  3. Yeah those that have been nicer, I tend not to give the time of day to. If you didn't think I mattered when I was fat, they don't deserve too much extra attention when I got thin, Most of them are jealous. So I just move on, women are horrible to each other. I wish all women would build each other up no matter what weight one might be. I never preach or boast about my weight loss. I am just extremely happy with myself which is making my life much more pleasurable despite some people.
  4. I also get dizzy with low blood sugar. Yes I do get hungry but it is controllable for me. Mine is not head hunger it is physical hunger because I can tell by how my body is reacting. I try to remember to carry something with me but i don't always remember. sometimes my quick errands turn into a day of clothes shopping. i just hurry up and buy things and get home to eat. i always have something in my fridge that will heat up in less than a minute. sorry i got sidetracked here. i am about 8 months out and have been hungry since about 3 months post op. its. ot a bad thing, because if i didnt get the hunger feeling i would never eat. and that is not good!
  5. Sugar free Popsicles and no added sugar fudgesickles 40 calories no nutritional value but it satisfies the little sweet tooth and/or a need to eat something, sugar free jello sugar free pudding are also great options. You can have a snack, jus thas to be a wise choice. I am 8 months out and met goal at 6 months. I am slowly adding some healthy snacks. It doesn't make me feel deprived. So far so good. Good luck on your journey. You will find what works for you, everyone is different.
  6. I can't even remember but I am out nearly 8 months and up until a week ago only went once a week and that was if I took a laxative.
  7. I totally agree, I weigh every single day in the morning at approximately the same time. It keeps me in line and plan to do it forever. I keep myself in line knowing I am going to get on the scale every morning.
  8. I eat fruit, apples oranges grapes strawberries pineapple peaches. I lose on them, they are filling also. I do make sure to get in my protein. But really if we are to lead normal lives after surgery we need to eat normally. There is nothing wrong with sugar in fruit. I stay away from bananas because I can eat a lot of them (for me anyway). And they have always made me hungry.
  9. My Xanax and Wellbutrin both ha e been cut in half.
  10. If they do not participate with your insurance. They can charge what they want. If they have an agreement with your insurance they cannot do that. They will have an "allowable rate" with the insurance and that is all they can charge.m so you need to know if they participate with your insurance.
  11. I know! That's exactly what they are doing. I am NOT a mean person but sometimes I want to say....you should know how much I lost. Looks like you found it. Sometimes people are just insulting. But I could really never be like that.
  12. I don't tell people how much I lost, except people on this forum and my husband. The people I know are judgmental. Lol. The ones that really get me is how much have you lost and how much do you weigh now? My co workers think I am stupid. They just want to know what I weighed before all this. Lol
  13. I am at goal...and going on a cruise in January. Can't wait. Thanks for the tips, they will certainly help me maintain.
  14. Wow you are my hero! You made me feel so much better about it. Your right. I have a bounce range too. And it's not like I went overboard. Even if I did gain today and I am not sure I did. Starting as quickly as tomorrow will be just fine. ????????????????????
  15. Great advice! I am learning that process too.
  16. I have been at goal for almost 2 months. I eat very carefully and I don't stray too far from my program. But today I knew and had planned on eating cake. I did and now I feel guilty. I have got to get over this. I didn't eat the whole cake. Lol. Just a reasonable size piece. I felt like everyone was watching me even though I know they weren't. I feel bloated and fat. Even though today my mother told me your so skinny. Last week she told me you can't lose anymore weight. And I know I can't lose anymore. I can feel my bones. Weird feeling when you can grab your arm and feel bones. I am not bony but I am happy where I am and want to stay there. I don't think there is anything wrong with eating something that's not real good for you once in a great while and in moderation but I fear I am going to get on the scale in the morning and gain more than I should. Does anyone else at maintanice worry about every little thing they eat?
  17. I also love popcorn and I do eat movie popcorn, but I did not eat it that soon. I waited until my NUT said it was ok to try it. It is the only thing I eat that is really not that good for me. But I don't eat anything else like pasta, breads, candy, cake, cookies. Nothing. So if I have a little popcorn at the movies and stay within my calories. I am good. Just be patient your time will come.
  18. The only regret I had is that I was too embarrassed to take good before photos and I didn't measure myself, Sure wish I would have taken my measurements. Other than that............nothing. I would have done nothing different. Fun and exciting the whole way down to goal. Don't get me wrong there were some bumps but nothing big.
  19. I am 52 EVERYTHING I drink makes me pee. I pee about every 1 1/2 hours. And I work for a urologist. Water intake=urine output. So I doubt caffeine could possibly make it any worse. I did drink coffee with caffeine today and all it did was speed me up. No acid so I guess for me it was ok. Just once I a while. Lol not everyday.
