  1. Finally broke the stall. Down 20 pounds since surgery, 35 overall. Also lost 10.75 inches. Now I just need to get up and start exercising!

Yeah, I found it hard to get started with the exercise at first as well, but once you get going, it gets easier.

  2. Ok. So still frustrated with the scale not moving, BUT , first NSV--a dress that did not fit last week, is almost ready to wear. Maybe with some spandex, but soon!,

      sweettea

Well, you must be losing something - inches, or the dress wouldn't fit.

Sometimes the NSV is more important than a number on a scale. The scale isn't always 100 % accurate, and can go up or down for no reason, but the clothes ? Clothes don't lie. They tell the truth, so congratulations on your big NSV ! Keep it up !!!

  3. Really frustrated! I assume my body is in shock from losing so much the first to weeks, and adding the multi vitamin with iron didn't help, and the monthly visitor, but seriously, gaining a pound??

      jane13

I use to gain 3-5 from "Aunt Flo"!

drink, walk and stay away from processed foods (salt) and of course, don't add any salt.

Stalls are inevitable - you will have them and some weeks you will gain. stay the course :D

  4. Just tried Fairlife chocolate milk. AMAZING! I only had a little bit because of the sugar, but it does have higher protein than regular milk. Just a couple sips was like drinking chocolate ice cream. It is also low lactose, so no discomfort, yet anyway

So I do have thrush. Have to suck on a tablet like lozenge 5 times a day. Apparently they don't taste very good and might cause stomach upset :(. Also going to start taking probiotics

Thanks emma4884, since there's no swelling, I'm hoping it's just sprained. Been following the first aid I found online. Yeah, I need to "lighten" up in more ways than one. Laughing at myself is kinda hard for me ;)

The PA said I probably did break it, but that I was doing exactly what could be done. I can't find anything but flip flops that are not painful

  9. When does one feel like a normal human again? Having difficulty getting the gas to dissipate even with walking.

    1. jane13

      jane13

Normal hits everyone at a different time. For me it was a couple of days after, when I started pureed food. I felt much better then and other than being tired I felt pretty good from that point on. I figure out after about 20-25lb loss that my BP meds was too much and once I split the dose my energy levels came up tremendously. hydrate and move for the gas :D

  10. Just got home from hospital yesterday afternoon. I never knew I would be so thankful for the ability to pass ga.s. Ugh, the bloating is awful. I know it wil "pass". I also understand how dehydration can happen, I have no desire to put anything in my mouth!

  12. About to finish day 1 of preop diet. Will need to eat some more protein in a bit. Not too bad, but I know it's going to take focus and determination!

      Mountaingal

Keep your eye on the prize. You can make it. I am also pre-op. I find a snack of low fat string cheese or a bit of chicken helps me a lot, Best of the different things I have tried. Good luck.
