  1. I take these and I actually like them. the Advanced Multi EA.

    https://www1.bariatricadvantage.com/catalog/us-en/1/Multivitamins

And I have a Protein shake every single morning. I take my thyroid medication with 3 glasses of Water because I have to wait an hour to have anything else then drink a Protein Shake. I then take my Vitamins before or after lunch depending if I am working from home or office. Check the values on these versus what you are taking to see if they are comparable. I also take a Vitamin D gummie and a sublingual B12.< /p>

thank you babes, I will try those, and I will space my Vitamins out so I don't get sick

  2. I despise Protein Shakes so my go to is GENEPRO Protein Powder. I add it to foods like hot chocolate or milk based Soups. It's whey Protein so it works best with milk based products. One tablespoon is 30g of protein. For the first three months that was my main source of protein since I could eat so little. :)

OMG thank you , maybe I can also add some to my Decaf coffee , and hot chocolate , how does it taste in soups?

  3. Don't ask a question and then scold someone for answering. You were receiving a compliment and you were rude

excuse me haven't you heard if you got nothing nice to say to not say anything at all? How was I rude? I'm the one of the nicest person in this group ! Your comment wasn't necessary but thank you

I can most definitely see a difference.

    thank you love

  4. Between the first and the 2nd picture you lost 40lbs but had the same pants on. You will never see the difference if you keep wearing the same clothes. Get NEW clothes.

actually first and second i lost 44 , and you can totally see a difference , why would I get new clothes I feel like you can see a difference wearing the same outfit before and after, your comment was a bit rude!!
You posted a picture with no comments. I thought you were asking if you could tell the difference because you couldn't. That is usually what people mean when they ask if we can see the difference, because they can't see it.
    ???? thank you

  5. I don't get some of the logic you're using here:

For one thing, drinking Protein shakes don't make your hair fall out. (Did I understand correctly that you think that?)

For another thing, almost everyone loses hair post-op. And then it grows back in. Yeah, it's a pain, but you're not unusual because you're now starting to lose some hair.

Next thing -- you HAVE to eat at least 60 grams of Protein -- whether in food or in protein drinks. Really. I mean it. This will help you from losing more hair than you "normally" would lose. And it will help your hair start re-growing back in faster.

Finally -- taking your Omeprazole (acid-reducer) will (as you might expect) greatly reduce stomach acid and will (probably) reduce your stomach discomfort, nausea, etc. Makes sense, eh?

Finally, finding the right protein shake can be quite the scavenger hunt. The one that works best for me are GNC Lean 25 shakes. I like the swiss chocolate flavor. If you haven't tried that, check 'em out. :)

I could give you lots more advice, but this is enough for now. :)

    P.S. Buck up! :)

I didn't explain myself correctly , I didn't say protein makes hair fall out, I meant that I will have to start drinking my protein even if I don't want to, because I heard your hair starts falling out because of the lack of protein & I don't want my hair to keep falling out!! , thank you for all of your advise , I will have to try that Protein Shake maybe I end up liking it :)

  6. Wow, you THINK you are getting 40 grams of Protein a day? No wonder you are losing your hair.

I agree, you definitely need to track your food to make sure you get in enough Protein. What is your target? Mine is 100 grams a day. 60 grams would be a bare minimum. Most of us have a target of at least 80 grams.

Getting only half of your protein would lead to Hair loss, slow healing, and slow or no weight loss.

Talk to your NUT as soon as possible about strategies for getting more protein in addition to finding Vitamins that you can tolerate.

Are you at the very least getting 64 oz of Fluid a day?

I don't see how it's possible to get 100 grams of protein when I get full right away, I don't log my food but I eat a lot of fish, meat, anything that has a lot of protein , I guess I will have to drink protein shakes even if I don't want to because my hair keeps falling and it's driving me nuts

  7. OK a couple if things. First, omeprazole isn't a Vitamin. That is an acid reducer. That one shouldn't make you sick but if you feel it does, take it right before you go to bed that way you will sleep thru the nausea. Second, Biotin dies not prevent your hair from falling out, it just helps regrowth. There is a lot if speculation on whether it truly works or not. If that ones makes you sick, just skip it for now. Third, check your Multivitamin to see how much Iron is in it. There may be sufficient Iron in it for you not to have to take the separate supplement. And lastly and most importantly, you HAVE to get your Protein up. At 3 months post-op, you should be getting a minimum of 60g (and possibly more). You indicate "you think" which means you are not logging your food. You need to do that at least for a while until you are sure you are getting the tight nutrients. And PS insufficient Protein is likely why you are losing so much hair.

Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal

I will def check how much iron my Vitamins have, and thank you for all the information, I feel like I'm not doing this right, my surgeon told me to skip the Protein shakes if I eat protein, I honestly don't even eat Breakfast sometimes, but I hate my Protein shake, I will buy Premier Protein to at least have it for Breakfast and lunch since sometimes I only have one meal because I don't get hungry at all!!

  8. I can see a difference, even in the same pants. Get new clothes when YOU want to get new clothes :)

Congratulations on your success and progress!

thank you love ???? people say not to buy new clothes all the time because of the constant weight loss , I live in leggings and I thankfully I was never this overweight before so my clothes from when I was at my healthier weight will fit me soon, but for now I guess I'll stick to leggings and shirts

I understand what she was saying. You post pictures asking others if others can see a difference. Most of the time people do that because they themselves are having a hard time seeing it.

If we don't get smaller clothes it's hard to see where we are..

But in your case you see the difference and put this out there to get confirmation.

thank you , I understand what she meant, I buy new clothes it's just that day I happen to have the same pj pants on ????

  10. Yeah I can see the difference...

    Good job...

The difference is SO MUCH easier to see in others than it is in ourselves...

    Just my opinion of course....

    thank you ????

Awesome job!! What a great progress pic!

    thank you ????

I can tell a huge difference! Way to go stick with it and you will love your results! Looking good girl :)

thank you love, if I feel good now I imagine once I'm at my goal weight haha ????

  12. @@scarlep - No hun, I don't mind pills. But I am much older than you and have taken pills of all kinds for a long time but I understand. You have to know that Vitamins are super super important after weight loss surgery. Our bodies just cannot get appropriate nutrients from food. Vitamins are a lifetime commitment. They may be slightly different depending on how your Vitamin levels are, but I will tell you that I was told that at 3 months, my vitamin levels were good but could be reflecting pre-op nutrients, so if you get good results (and I hope you do), don't just assume you are good to go without them. I too use chewable vitamins. And I take them with meals. So far, so good, but we will see at my next test. Consider bariatric vitamins or at the very least, consider Flintstone vitamins. They are chewable and don't taste too bad (or kids wouldn't take them). I have heard mixed reviews about them for bariatric patients, so ask your dr but I suppose it would be better than nothing. You are supposed to take double the dose it says on the bottle (i.e. if it says 1 pill 1 time per day, take 1 pill twice per day). I have also taken Centrum chewables which aren't that bad and then Bariatric Advantage calcium chews are pretty good. Kind of like a candy treat. You will just have to keep experimenting until you find one that works. I had nausea for 6 months and took Zofran nearly every day but it finally stopped. You had major surgery. You are still healing. It will get better.

PS - how much Protein are you eating? Sometimes that can affect your hair (although there is sometimes nothing you can do to stop it).

I have centrum chewables, Flinstones chewables ,calcium it's chewable too, the only ones I can't take because I feel sick are the omeprazole , Iron, Biotin ughh and yes I double the dose :/ i will try to buy the bariatric advantage . I highly doubt my levels will be good since I haven't been very good with my vitamins :/. And I think I get at least 40 grams of protein a day

Which vitamins are you taking? Check and see if they contain iron. Many people, myself included, couldn't tolerate vitamins containing iron. It made me vomit nearly immediately. I changed to another brand made for bariatric patients and have had no trouble since.

hmmm maybe it's the iron getting me sick

The best things I've found are chewable and sub lingual vitamins. I have a hard time swallowing pills after surgery and would throw them right back up until I started doing chewables. I started to have Hair loss too, I started taking biotin and my hair is feeling extremely healthy and is no longer falling out. Best of luck to you!

mine it's falling out , I'm taking biotin but I know it only helps with regrow
