  1. I am so full just getting in my 5oz of liquids every hour it makes my stomach turn to think of actually eating anything. Honestly it's kind of nice to not be focused on food all the time.

Hello Angie, it's good to hear there's a light at the end of the tunnel. When are you returning to work? Are you having any trouble getting all your fluids in? I found that I have to take a couple breaks during the day so I don't make myself feel sick.

I'm sorry to hear you're still in the hospital. Hope they let you out today. It's so hard to get any rest there. I guess I got lucky. Only had to stay there 1 night. They let me out yesterday. Yesterday I couldn't quit 2nd guessing my decision to move forward with the surgery. The gas pain was horrible and it traveled across my whole upper body. I was up walking a lot and it didn't help at all. Even the meds they gave me to help reduce the gas didn't do anything. So yeah, yesterday was horrible. So far I feel better today. The gas has eased up quite a bit from last night. Trying to get all my liquids in. It's tough.
  6. I didn't feel hot though.
  7. Yes, I had my surgery yesterday morning. The gas is pretty painful. The nurses said it's normal for the gas pain to radiate to your chest, arms, back... It sucks. Hoping it will let up soon.

Hey Sunny, congrats on your surgery! How are you feeling? Has the gas pain went away for you yet? The nurses at the hospital said the 3rd day out is typically the worst.

Had my surgery at 9am. Feeling pretty good with exception to all the gas that just won't go away. Can't wait for this part to be over.

    Pre-op Diet! successes? struggles?

My pre-op diet is 2 Protein shakes and 1 meal with 3oz of lean protein, 1/2 cup of starches, 1/2 cup of vegetables. My doctor only requires it for 1 week, but I started a week early just in case I had trouble adjusting to it. Had a headache for 4 days straight and was really hungry. Didn't cheat though. Thanking myself now because I'm 9 days in and I feel much better... not craving anything either.

    One month to surgery

I bought the chicken broth Unjury just last week. To be honest, it was pretty good. I was surprised. I really don't like the sweet protein drinks so this is a very nice change. I heard several people say to be careful and not add it to really hot water... Guess it doesn't mix well at that point.

    March surgery????

Good luck! Mine is the 31st.
  14. My husband and I bought tickets to go on a 2 seater zip line ride. When it got to our turn walked up the stairs and the operator asked us to get on the scale first... In front of everyone. He proceeded to tell us that we were over the weight limit and we would have to ride one at a time. We were absolutely humiliated and ended up leaving. So anyway, surgery is 9 days away. Time to get my life back on track.
  15. Woo hoo! Congrats. My surgery is the day after yours. I can't wait.

    Out of pocket cost

My surgeon charges $14,500 for the sleeve (includes surgery, hospital fees, anesthesiologist, etc..).

    Private financing

My dr's office suggested Credit Care (check with your surgeon first- not all places accept this). Since I was self pay I moved through the process very quickly and didn't have time to keep looking for a bank loan. The banks in my area also limited personal loans to a max of 24 months so that wasn't really a viable option.

Me too. I think it's going to help a lot after the surgery to to be able to hear what everyone else is going through.
