  1. My insurance took into consideration my prior nutritionist and weight watchers visits also. So I applied for insurance for surgery. They told me that they need six months of nutritionist visits. I asked them if consultations with my physician ( every timeyou talk to him abt diet) and weight watchers will do. They said "yes" YAY! ... So my physician compiled a medical necessity letter ... I am completely healthy other then the weight... So basically he wrote that if she does not have the surgery she will be at a risk of blah blah blah ! And he also included a chart of my past two years visits and mentioned that everytime I met with him we spoke abt nutrition diet n weight... He also mentioned all the diets that I have tried. Then my coordinatir in the surgeons office filed it ( with all the other tests) and I heard from them witin a week that I was approved. I have been approved since March... But I too scared of having the surgery so I am taking my time. I have United Healthcare as my insurance. So maybe u can start your nutritionist visits now and get the surgery done when u have the insurance. It might help if you have any complications( hopefully you don't ????) Hope it helps ????
  2. Go with the insurance. It will definitely help incase of complications. My insurance took into consideration my prior nutritionist and weight watchers visits also. 3. I am ! I am ! ????just like you ...on the same day ... Want the benefits of the surgery.. Without the surgery.... I feel like everything that might go wrong will go wrong with me... My surgeon is Dr. Nusbaum in Livingston Nj ... Yours is ?
  4. Anyone getting sleeved on April 16th? Help!!! I am in danger of chickening out .. Again! ???? My doc says my vitals are perfect... I am in no danger of cholesterol or BP, or Sugar or Cancer of any sort... I am doing this for psychological reasons.... I am tired of seeing myself like this. I am very worried about any complications that may arise in a month or maybe ten years from now
  5. Hi, I was wondering if anyone used Dr Michael Nusbaum for their Gastric Sleeve. How was your experience... Anything you would like to share is appreciated. I am getting sleeved by him on April 16th ( if I don't chicken out... Second time ????)
  6. You are right Cydney... Everyone has a different experience. Your story gives us hope... I m pre-op. Scheduled for April16th. I was scheduled for March 24th, but I chickened out. I thought that I can do this by myself. I stayed on a very low calorie diet with no problem... I consume around 800 calories a day... Still did not loose weight.. I then get discouraged and start upping my calorie consumption. I guess the sleeve helps you to not get discouraged and continue the diet for a long time... I guess that's the difference. I am very worried about the complications though... I know what can happen with regards to complications, but I have decided to read only success stories to get me through this ????
  7. Hi There... I am scheduled for April 16th 2015... I was initially scheduled for March 24th, but I backed out. I am extremely nervous about the surgery. I feel like everything that can go wrong is going to go wrong with me ???? Just hope I am making the right decision... To top it all, my family doesn't support this ????
