  1. Mine said 50.. but I try to stick to 20ish. I lose about 20 lbs a month doing this.
  2. So I started my weight loss journey a little over a year ago now. I first met my surgeon in May of 2014. I had gastric Sleeve surgery Feb 25th 2015. Max weight was 327 lbs.. today I hit 227:) It feels really great to have dropped that much weight. I still have about 30 lbs to go but I know I will get there in a few more months. For the folks out there considering surgery.. do it. It is awesome! But, don't under estimate the follow through and will power you will need to have following surgery. I would say within 4 weeks after surgery I could have eaten anything I liked (of course in small quantities at a time). If you aren't careful you can easily have slow to no weight loss. How did I achieve roughly 20 lbs a month weight loss? Essentially a really strict form of the Atkins diet. It essentially eliminates carb cravings (for me at least). Atkins isn't for everyone but it works really well. I'm sure if you are preop you are fretting about the liquid diet post op. Yea it sucks but 2-3 weeks fly's by. You gotta look at this as a long term journey. At 5 months out I definitely have as much physical restriction as I had day 1 after surgery. I don't have any real hunger signals going on. I try to stick to a regular schedule of food that works for Atkins. Overall I am really happy with the surgery. I recommend it to everyone that has serious weight issues.

What activities are you looking forward to doing?

I seem to have a lot of interests in common with ya'll... Love to go skiing again. Used to be a ski instructor when I was young. Scube diving! I used to scube dive all the time when I was first married 15 years ago. I was dive instructor certified. I cant wait to get back to it. Going to the amusement park with my family and actually riding rides (instead of worrying If I am to fat to fit. Happened to me once.. was quite embarassing. Sailing. I used to love sailing in the summer. Little sunfish boat. Time to research buying one. Swimming without being embarassed (having to wear a shirt, etc). I hear ya'll on the plane thing. I dread flying because I know I am inconviencing others. Hell i let out a sigh when the fat guy passes me in the aisle as well. I know others are thinking the same when I do. Buying clothes at normal stores.. not the big and tall section. So overall I have a lot to looks forward to.. Only 89 lbs away..
  4. I only took 2 actual days off work. Had surgery on thursday. rested Friday, Sat, Sun. Worked from home Mon, tues, wed. Went back on Thursday. I probably could have gone back Tuesday no problem. I think you'll be fine. I do a desk job as well.

    Really Nervous

NO worries.. if you doctor isnt worried you shouldnt be. As mentioned they typically add another hole and lift the liver out of the way by retracting it. I'm sure your surgery will go great!

I was sleeved in Feb 26th at 322 lbs. So far so good. I've adapted pretty well to the diet.. I am now on soft foods and 23 days out I have dropped 30 lbs. I'm taking off about 1 lb to 1/2 lb a day. Looking forward to the 280's shortly!
