  1. I'm in the process of packing my bag, cleaning, feeding the little ones, going back to packing...lol I'm all over the place! I've read that others just take very few items, definitely bring a robe, eos lip balm, charger, gas x strips, PPI, and an extra pair of clothes just incase (most have said they didn't need it)! As long as I have a way to see how my girls are doing that's all that matters for me lol I'm hoping my husband can bring them once I'm done, they are the first thing I want to see when waking up ????

No timeline for me yet either. The guy that told me what time to be there the next morning (9:00am) said the soonest I'd go back is 11am but could be later, that kind of nonsense is not easy for someone who likes to plan ;P lol!

  2. I am nearly done with insurance required diet and will attend surgeon seminar on Monday. I've done LOTS of research and have read books and I believe I am educated on risks and benefits of each option. I'm leaning toward sleeve mainly because no foreign object inside me and no hassle with fills. My husband and my mom are convinced band is best since it can be adjusted and mom is not convinced I won't stretch out and regain long term with sleeve. Has anyone else agonized over choice of surgery to get? No doubt I need one or the other. I'm not on the fence to do this but a little confused my best option. Do most surgeons eventually try to help each person custom fit this decision for them?

Anything can have its downsides...I originally considered the band, but after researching possible slippage, corrosion of the stomach where the band was placed that could end up being a revision to sleeve afterward which would mean two surgeries, two recoveries, etc...also the constant needles and having to mess with fills as well as dealing with the entire lifestyle change that comes along with any weight loss surgery just wasn't what I wanted....the foreign body was the deal breaker though over all. The sleeve may be irreversible, but that seems to be the only downside aside from possible complications that are relatively low...I want something that is for life, something I can count on..something I can't just remove if I'm having a hard time or if I just want to give up....that's my two sense anyway...everything has its good and bad, it's ur body, uve done the research, now just weigh the pros and cons and make a decision....you will do great either way! What works for one won't work the same for another :) good luck!

Also I hope no one with or who has had the band takes any offense to what I've said ❤️

  3. My surgery date is for March 16 at 11:30am. I am so excited to get all this weight off but nervous at the same time. So far the pre-op diet has been okay. I cut out soda January 1st, Ice cream a few weeks ago and Protein Shakes have been good. Im nervous to get past the first few weeks of the unknown. I understand there will be pain, gas and discomfort, but I hope things go smoothly and tolerable.

The unknown scares the heck out of me! I just keep filling myself with positivity thought and telling myself that everything will be okay and I'll do just fine. We both know that not everything will be rainbows and bunnies, but it won't be forever unlike our current situation if you know what I mean lol :)

  4. I have only told one person ... At work when they asked me about the surgery, I lied.

I will say that the preop diet has been extremely challenging. My doctor doesn't require it, but I have tried to be good about eating low carb ... But even that was a bit hard. So much of my problem is my head "hunger" ... Also sad of all the foods that I am going to have to give up.

I totally understand what ur feeling, we are about to go through such a life changing experience that it seems as if everything will be sooo much different on the other side, and there is no doubt that it will at the beginning. Eventually though we will begin to get to know our sleeves and our bodies all over again and though we won't be able to eat in such large unhealthy quantities or have that "I'll start my new diet Monday" mentality, it won't be long until we will be eating normal foods that we used to love, but in moderation! And this time we'll look even sexier doing it ;) haha just keep doing the best you can and keep trucking, all we can do is keep moving forward :)

  5. March 16th is my date! first surgery ever and I'm trying so hard to not let my nerves or any negativity get the best of me!

I'm right there with you! Monday is our day! I'm super excited but a bit nervous, I've also never had any type of surgery before, so I don't know what to expect. All I know if that the end result with help me get to where I need to be. Best wishes to you!! ❤️

Aw thank you @@la619sd Same to you! Soon we are going to be saying "this is the best thing I ever did for myself" like so many others here :)...today is my last day of high Protein, low carb and tomorrow is nothing but liquids and it's not phasing me one bit because the nerves are killing my hunger anyway lol I did my last minute shopping yesterday...I'd seriously be lost without this site!
