    Liquid Temperatures

I drink both with no issues. I ended up with room temp liquids because it takes me a while to drink everything but I prefer cold or hot as intended!

    Coffee-- How Soon?

I am allowed caffeinated beverages such as tea or coffee right away if I tolerate them. ????. I have had tea, but the coffee didn't sit well so I am going to try again in a week or so.
  4. Yep- this is how I feel in my side too! I have some pain as well tho because I am pretty new post op- POD#6

    Walking Post Op

I am on POD#6 now and I only like to walk for about 10-15 and then take a rest. I went grocery shopping with my mom and son- I just walked and pointed but after like 45 minutes I was wiped! I sat down while they did the check out and then sat down as soon as back to the car than took a two hour nap when we got home... My mom is going back home today-- I am sad because she has been such a help! I think you are right on track!

    Pumpkin Pie Protein Shake

GNC total lean makes a Protein shake in pumpkin spice that I like- I do *one scoop of pumpkin spice 12.5 G protein, 1 scoop unflavored 10g protein and 8 oz fair life skim milk 13 G protein. It is 220 calories, but 35.5 g of protein and yummy but not to sweet! I am post op day 6 so I try to get as protein I can in one shake because it takes me a while to drink it or anything for that matter! I might be advanced to soft dairy today.. Yeah! * the directions say to use two scoops but it is too sweet for me that way.
  7. Hi all- I am on post op day #3. I feel pretty good except the bloating/feeling of gas that won't go away- in my abdominal cavity. It is annoying and a bit uncomfortable. I have had almost no pain and would this feeling to go away too! I try walking and just started using a heating pad for comfort. I know it takes time I just wonder how long!

    Toothache / Ibuprofen

My surgeon said I could 200-400 once in a while for headache. No prolonged use- if more than a day at a time kind of thing- I would talk to your surgeon. Everyone is different.

    Feeling full?

I feel full all the time- I think it is the gas inside stomach cavity but maybe not- I feel uncomfortably full all the time-- I am sipping as much as I can tho-- POD #3

    Period?

Forgive me if this is a silly question.... My surgery is on Tuesday (9/29) and just started my period today. This got me thinking every month right before I get cravings for salty and chocolate things... How do you handle this after surgery? Does this still happen? I suppose I can handle the salt craving but chocolate probably won't work for a while if ever!
  15. i have found it at Meijer, Target and I think Kroger. Not sure where your located? http://fairlife.com/where-to-buy/

    Surgery in September

Today is my second night in the hospital-- I am so surprised I have almost no pain! I ha r no problem getting my laps in and getting up for the bathroom--- The feeling of gas/bloating is bothering me- I can't seem to get it moving along! I am still on IV fluids and haven't got close to the 40oz goal they want for me... They say I can be discharged before than, but that seems crazy!!

    Surgery in September

OMG! People with a 9/29 surgery day-- it is finally here!! Good luck today! My surgery isn't until 1100-- I do have to get up early because we have a compute for preschool/traffic in the morning!
  19. My copy for monthly visits to my surgeon are $50. Not all insurances have coverage for obesity (except surgical treatment) so I know some who pay this part themselves. (The charges for these monthly visits at my surgeon's office are $167) I paid $200 for the scope ( around $2000). I have had to pay about 250 to meet my 750 deductible during the process. On surgery day i have no copay, but I am responsible for 10% (coinsurance) I believe it will be around 2,000 for hospital/ surgeon fees and around 500 for anesthesia. The total charges for gastric bypass are about 31,000 so not to bad. ???????? I am not sure of my max out of pocket so I might not have to pay all of my 10%- I need to get on my plan documents to double check!

    Protein Favorites

i bought mine on Amazon- Syntrax brand
  21. I really like the fair life milk- it had 19g of Protein in 8oz (I think, not looking at the bottle) I can make a smaller drink with lots of protein. Non-dairy I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk. This is yummy, but no added bonus of extra protein!

    Fear leading up to surgery

My surgery is tomorrow-- It's weird, but I am not really scared or nervous. I feel like I should be more nervous- maybe tomorrow on the way to the hospital? My husband on the other had is a basket case. He think everything that can go wrong During and after surgery will!
  23. Yes, my husband has also said a few times he was worried I would get skinny and leave him. I think surgery makes them insecure....
  24. My husband is afraid, but he taking the opposite route and grilling me on the surgery: how, why, what ifs. I think he has come to terms with the fact that I am not changing my mind. He came to my pre-op class but was very late. I appreciated his effort. I hope your husband comes around. Maybe try and open a dialogue about concerns of the surgery?
