    IUDs

I just had a paragard inserted in Friday, the 23rd. The pain was uncomfortable for a few minutes during insertion and than I had significant cramping the rest of that day. They gave me a Motrin 800 before to help with cramping and they numbed my cervix as well. I have also had a baby so that helps-- (I had mirena for a year after toddler was born- I don't remember that insertion hurting but it was 6 weeks after delivery) I don't want hormonal birth control and I don't want a baby so Paragard is the best choice for me. I hope you finds what will work for you!
  2. I am almost 4 weeks out and I can barely get 500 calories in. When they said soft foods they mean yogurt, cottage cheese that sort of thing- not soft lean cuisines. In my pre-op education I was told no bread, Pasta, rice. What are your Protein goals? Are you meeting them? I hope you can talk with your surgeon/nutritionist ASAP! I agree with others who said go back to the hospital. I can't even fathom how you could eat 3 lean cuisines in a row after bypass surgery... Mind blown! I hope they are find out what is going on here--- this doesn't make any kind of sense. ????????

    Hummus

I tried hummus yesterday- the consistency seemed good, but it came right back up. ???????? I am going to try again next week? It's weird because refried Beans go down well for me!

    Nut Requirements

You might want to call your insurance and your surgeon on this. I have BCBS and my supervised diet was completed with the monthly weigh-ins and consultations with my surgeon. I did not have to see a seperate nutritionist. Every insurance is different with the requirments though- I have several people who's insurance requirements were the same as mine.

How much do you eat a day

Can I ask why you are skipping breakfast? It doesn't seem like the best idea? What are your daily protein totals so far? Are you following the plan your surgeon gave you? I am 3 weeks out from surgery today- My days are pretty similar Protein coffee (With Fairlife Milk, depending on which of my protein powders I choose 26-29 g protein here) This takes me a good 2 hours to drink usually lunch 1 Light and Fit Greek Yogurt 12 g protein Takes about 45-60 minutes to eat dinner 1/4-1/3 cup refried Beans, 2 TBSP salsa, 1 TBSP Sour cream 7 g protein I will add unflavored protein powder to crystal light if needed to reach my goal of 50g minimum I am usually at about 500 calories. I am usually short on water/calorie free liquids... I try to drink but it takes me a long time.

    Odd question?

The past week it seems like at least once a meal sometimes more my good doesn't agree with me... I have stopped trying to advance my diet this week. Vomiting is different now. Usually I feel a sharp pain near the bottom of my chest- letting me know the food isn't going to go down... I walk to the bathroom than the food comes up immediately- no retching, usually once or twice til the pouch is empty. I think the foods I tried to advance to were to dry tho.... I am going to try advancing again in 2-3 days after this morning's vomit fest! It really isn't like before- it doesn't hurt, no retching, no acid taste in my mouth. It comes than its over. I still don't like it tho-

    Fish on soft food died?

So far Tuna hasn't worked for me. ???? 2 bites- than the burning pain in my chest and back up it comes... The last few things I have tried while advancing my diet have not worked-- even Beans from Taco Bell (I can tolerate refried beans at home no issues) I am afraid to try moving on anymore-- I am going to wait a few more days and try another fish perhaps? Tilapia? I will be three weeks on Tuesday- 10/20 I don't want to be stuck With eggs and beans forever! ????????
  13. I found a cauliflower crust I want to try... I am interested in your chicken crust tho!
  14. I made this today. I am not on any meat yet so I just used cheese and threw in some salsa- because I only had taco cheese. I also added cumin, salt and pepper. I only had WW pastry flour... I didn't have any veggies in hand, but would have liked some finely chopped onion and peppers. I think it turned out pretty well but next time I think I will add my salsa on top. For me this seemed to make a thick crust- so I am thinking of trying half the flour called for because of the type I am using. Overall, I think this is really cool and I could see doing all different flavor combos!

    Protein Shaker Forever?

It takes me at least an hour to drink an 11oz shake in the morning-- it takes me longer to do a bottle of water! I try to keep sipping- I am not back at work yet so no worries for me! ????

    Odd cravings..

I want pickles!!! I really love pickles! I don't know if they are soft enough-- ????

    Purée cottage cheese?

I was ok'd to advance to phase two on Day 7- the first step was sugar free yogurt, cottage cheese or sugar free applesauce for 2-5 days than continue. I had no trouble with small curd 1% cottage cheese. It was yummy! ????
  18. I am loving Amy's Organic Split Soup right now- I add cumin and a bit of medium salsa now- it takes 30-45 minutes for me to eat a cup. Soup is more of a liquid do I can eat more than day refried Beans which I just added yesterday- I served up 1/3 cup and had two bites left when I finished. I also had some tomato basil soup that I added a scoop of unflavored Protein powder to. I am going to try lentil soup today I think. I ❤️❤️ soup and have it for one meal a day so far... The cream of soups don't do it for me... I tried chicken, mushroom, celery-- I couldn't stomach more than a bit! So don't be afraid to try a few different things! I will adding eggs soon this week so I was thinking maybe egg drop soup.

    Orange juice

I was told no juice-- If your going to drink I would dilute it.
  22. I have heard someone else mention the isopure Protein Drink. Where do you find yours? I am interested in trying some!
  23. I ❤️❤️ my squatty Potty!
  24. I actually 8 days post-op now and have started advancing my diet per surgeon's instructions. (Day 6 was when I was given green light to move on to soft dairy(yogurt, cottage cheese and apple sauce for 2 -5 days) So I am doing 2 Protein shakes for 50+grams protein(depending on which type I grab), as many zero cal liquids as I can and I added a lunch of the soft dairy which has been 2-3 bites about 1 TBSP. My instruction sheet is pretty detailed but doesn't mention how often I should add solids to my diet. Should I have another "meal" of soft dairy at this point? I am not hungry ever and need to push to get the shakes in and now a few bites of cottage cheese or yogurt. What is everyone else doing?
