  1. Slow is better in my opinion. 1. Your skin will not be so saggy 2. Slower the weight loss the less likely the weight comes back 3. People will not think your on drugs and lost a lot of weight I am sure there are many more but that's all I can think of now. LOL Enjoy life and as long as you are losing be thankful! You are doing great!!!!

    Hair loss?

I am now 3 months out and mine has just now started falling out. I started washing my hair every 3 days and I have noticed it not as bad.
  3. Every Wednesday the hospital where I had my surgery holds a life class for all sleeve and bypass patients to attend. The staff have actually had the surgery themselves so they are speaking 1st hand and know what we are going thru. I was told no peanut butter because the carbs are more than the proteins. NO protein bars from Walmart, no Atkins meals from Walmart, no peanuts but to eat almonds the 100 calorie packs and no breads. I had been going thru a stall for 4 weeks and when I took their advice I have lost 4lbs in a week. They definitively know what they are talking about. I buy the Greek Yoplait yogurt 100 calories and it comes in strawberry shortcake, peach, apple pie and it is wonderful! My stepdaughter made me a smoothie with one cup of greek Yoplait yogurt(strawberry cheesecake) we had froze some chopped up bananas and put them in the blender with some protein powder and little milk and it was awesome!!! Hope this helps.
  4. What does everyone drink? I usually drink sweet tea before I had my sleeve now I am looking for my go to drink. I do not like crystal light or any flavor in my Water. I do not drink any soda and I really miss that . I cannot drink just plain water right now....for some reason it makes me nausea. Anyone have this issue besides me? I am 11 weeks out from surgery. Hope this is just a phase I am going thru. I have tried Protein packs in water and didn't care for them either. I can drink coffee and hot tea but there has got to be something that I have not thought of. Any suggestions?

    November 2015 Sleevers?

Sleeved on November 6th. Love my sleeve. Had to say goodbye to the scales!!!! I was weighing every day and getting a little discourages. Start Weight 265 now 219. I am loosing inches but the scales were not moving so they had to be put away. I will let them see some sunlight in a month. LOL
  6. Does anyone else have a problem finding food they like? I use to love food now it seems like I dislike the taste of everything that is good for me. I have started getting nausea from just about anything that I eat. What do some of you eat? I am tired of eggs, do not like meat, salads are ok but no nutrition so it is a waste to eat but at least it something in my stomach, tired of protein drinks, water makes me gag! I have lost 46lbs since November but the last 2 to 3 weeks it has only been 1 lb. That is still a lot of weight but I mostly lost it in the 1st month. Please give me some suggestions on food. I am not a very creative person and I refuse to fail on my new weight loss journey. Most of the time my vitamins make me nausea too! I have tried adding protein to coffee but it clumps up so I don't know what I am doing wrong. HELP
  7. Thanks for the suggestions! I will definitively try each of these.
  8. Why can we not have caffeine?

I sometimes experience dizziness and I was told that I was not getting in enough Protein. I started eating more protein and the dizziness did go away. I hope you find the help that you need and hang in there every day gets better.

Does this sound like a stall?

I agree with the other posts. Try not to weigh every day it does get discouraging if you do that. I am 2 months out and I had to remove my scales out of the bathroom because I would weigh every day. Now I try to weigh only once a week and that really helped me out a lot. I see other post where it seems like everyone is losing faster than myself but I just remember a slow loss is better than no loss at all. Keep up the good work!!!!
  16. I have been a nail biter all my life and I also haven't bit my nails not one time since my surgery! I am so thrilled about it!!!!! For the 1st time in my life my hands are so pretty and I just want to look at them all the time. LOL I usually had to keep fake nails on but no more!!!!!

I cant wait to be cold ICE COLD FREEZING!!!!! lol I HATE going outside now because it is so hot and I work in an office and don't want to be all sweaty when I come back in. Thank ya'll I have something else to look forward to

    Current sleevers in Alabama?

It is so nice to know there are several people getting sleeved in Birmingham. I am using Dr. Dewitt and I hope I will be sleeved sometime in November or December 2015. I have already done my sleep study, I have to have 7 months of supervised dr visits which I am on #3 this month so all I have left is EKG and pysch visit left to complete. Who are ya'll using for pysch ? It is so nice to know there are several people getting sleeved in Birmingham. I am using Dr. Dewitt and I hope I will be sleeved sometime in November or December 2015. 23. Hi everyone, I have already started my 6 month documented weight management or whatever its called. I am waiting to talk to my Dr. about the sleep study I completed couple of weeks ago and hopefully with that my insurance will pay for my gastric sleeve. I am 46 years old and my current weight is 254.8 according to the scales yesterday. I am 5.5 1/2 so my BMI also qualifies me for the procedure. I am trying to get all the research I can on what I need to prepare myself mentally and physically for this new life change. I have only been overweight for the last 10 years and I am miserable!!!!!! I am at my biggest size ever. I just hope these next 6 months goes by fast........ until then I will continue to follow everyone's post and hopefully learn a few things along the way.
