  1. Some posts are so bloody good, I'd like to be able to hit "Like" twice.

  2. Some topics are ugly in such a warped way, that they're fun. Others are just run to ugly. There should be a law that fun must be part of the mix.

  3. Stay away from the breakfast club. They are going cuckoo.

Kathy, what "great weight loss?" I' had one of those once upon a time, but have since screwed up royally.

  5. Super Chanukah and Christmas to all. Given a choice between red & green, sparkly cookies and old-fashioned, fried jelly dougnuts (so unlike chain-store offerings), I'll pounce on the latter. Yeah!! More cookies for you!

My cousin was a three time winner on Jeopardy. She came home with $36,000.00. Go for it!

That's fun. Three times isn't bad at all. Thanks.

  7. The clothing exchange was a success for the participants and very much so for me, having at long last gotten to meet the woman who, after a phone conversation six years ago, made me want to partner with our host organization. Other things made is special, too. One of the best evenings of any type that I've had in a while. I'm charged and ready for the next event.

  8. The last bite of an omelet should be its culmination. Then why is that, when a teeny shard of eggshell slips in to the mix, it waits in ambush until the last bite? What motivates it to be so unkind?

  9. The ones who get bent out of shape when they ask after the fact about their bad, potentially dangerous actions and get hard facts in return are the same ones who get bent out of shape about coddling, tiptoeing responses, claiming that they're being spoken down to. Then there are the ones who get grumpy when they omit pertinent info and get responses based only on what they have included. They want to be coddled and have their minds read at the same time. Sorry, I can't read blank pages.

Did you catch those subtle signs... I never do. Sometimes I need a brick to fall on my head. lol

  13. This evening's clothing exchange was one of the best. The highlight? A BP member came! And she brought lots and lots of great clothes! And found lots of clothes! And is terrific, too! And lives a few blocks from where I grew up! If I did that at all!

So they advertise the date and location of the sale. For a week before the sale, people come with their clothing items tagged, hung and priced. They are assigned a number that they place on their tags. They get 30 - 40% of the sale price and my friends get the remaining cut. It's a ZOO. The sellers get a pre-sale date to shop before it opens to the public. Anyone who volunteers gets a discount, too. There is a few days of after sale when sellers come collect their clothes or they are donated to a clothes bank. The big work for them is keeping track of who gets what as the clothes sell. It's definitely a lot of work, but the participants are HUGE and bring PILES and PILES of clothes.

I have never participated but the $$ flow is great for all interested. Because the seller prices their own stuff, it's up to them how much they potentially earn. It's a great concept all around.

The venue size is HUGE. Clothes, toys, handbags, shoes, maternity... HUGE for Virginia is about 10,000 square feet of empty store front. It's a cool process and a brilliant idea.

@LipstickLady. You're fast. As you see, I deleted my reply to your first note and sent it to you via BPmail. Now I shall see if I can print out this info. Thanks so much.

  14. This has got to stop. The third consonant is "T." There is no such thing as "dietician." Got it??!!

  15. This is day #4 of no incoming landline service in my area. At least I can make calls and people can email and text or leave VMs on my cell. #HateYourLocal Utilities. Hating all of them has always been wise anyway. the

Unfortunately I have employees that are new enough to have questions so even though I had this last week off, I wasn't really off. I would love to have an honest excuse to be unavailable!

  17. Took a deep breath and the step: Made an appt with my practice to determine the state of my band and what comes next. I'm open to sleeve, but need to learn more to get past my own bias against it. This is a tad premature, as I don't know yet whether my insurance covers revision.

  18. Topic for GREATER NEW YORK...CLOTHING EXCHANGE is now complete. If you're in the vicinity, take a look.

  23. What's this? No fun allowed? I'm out for the first half of the day and come back to find that I'm locked out of a trashy, wingding topic exchange? I demand a recount!!

  24. What's with all the bitching about not losing 10 lbs. a day? At least three new whines are posted daily. I have come to the conclusion that the psychologists who do evaluations are asking the wrong questions and not paying attention.

@WLSResources - mine used the word "only" as well. She had asked what my final goal weight was and asked how I would feel if I only got down xxx instead of my goal. I think she specifically chose the word "only" to see what sort of reaction it would trigger in me. I was pretty impressed with her - there were definitely times where she used likely trigger words to gauge my reactions, not because she was being insensitive.

@heidikat72 I believe that's what mine was doing as well. I don't remember the exact wording she used but it didn't bother me.
