    Calories at 8 Months?

@@Babbs I seem to be. I only weigh in monthly, so I'll know next Tuesday. But I was at about 1100 - 1200 the past couple months and losing about 15lbs a month.

    Does running get easier!?

@@deedadumble I'll have to read it thoroughly then!
  6. My cravings have been nuts the past week and a half. They jumped to an uber intensity on Tuesday when I did a shoot where I was surrounded by every possible dessert in the world. I'm almost 8 months out from surgery and I can confidently say that I've never had cravings like this. I feel like I'm PMSing - I have minor cramps, am super irritable, and I'm having serious chocolate cravings - but because my hormones are so out of whack I can't say for sure. I was told that WLS patients may have crazy periods, sometimes twice a month, but my experience has been the exact opposite. I'm two weeks late. Again. But that doesn't seemed to have stopped the PMS. I'm also obsessively craving Peanut Butter, which is new. I've been very lucky in that, for eight months, I haven't really had cravings. I see something that looks tasty, feel a brief pang over not being able to enjoy it, and then move on. This is been entirely different and very unpleasant. Now everything that tastes even mildly good I have to fight with myself not to go back for second helpings. How do you ladies deal with intense cravings? It's mostly peanut butter and chocolate - I know there are good alternatives but I'm already eating 1200 calories a day which I think may be on the high end for 8 months out, so I'm reluctant to add any more. Suggestions? Advice? Witty comments?

    Cycling Questions

I'll have to check out the 3 o'clock position. My foot position should be pretty good as I'm using clipless pedals. I am stretching some but perhaps I should stretch more? I take my dog for a brisk walk, come home and stretch for about 5 minutes and then head out.

    Does running get easier!?

@@jess9395 well that's part of what's so irritating - I went to a runners shoe store and sort of got "fitted" for shoes - I actually under pronate. But it doesn't seem to have made much difference. I've been doing the shin splint exercises as often as I can but that doesn't seem to help either. @@Chrystee I'll have to check those out.

Quest Bars - Soluble Corn Fiber

@@Thinside it's good that you're experimenting to find what you like. It's really hard to find a good one that meets all the requirements (not too high in calories, low sugar, high protein, not to mention taste.)

    Does running get easier!?

I realise this is an older thread, but what do you runners do for shin splints? I get them really badly, particularly in my right leg. I stretch (after warming up - no static stretching) and have really good shoes, but nothing seems to help.

    Calf cramp

@@dhrguru you could try Nuun for electrolytes. It's a little fuzzy so I have tend to put it in my water bottle at the end of a workout, leave the lid open for a few hours, and then stick it in the fridge for the next day's workout. Gatorade is ok in a pinch but it's got so much sugar.

    Intense Cravings While PMSing

@@MissMac that's a good idea! I hadn't thought of that. @@pink dahlia I bought a few of the I Love Peanut Butter individual peanut butter packets last night. Weirdly, the act of just buying them kind of satiated the craving. I had one of the this morning when the craving hit and that seemed to help. I'm really hoping these cravings are period related and temporary.

Quest Bars - Soluble Corn Fiber

@@amazon @@CowgirlJane sometimes I wonder if it's the sucralose. That's one of the many reasons I try to limit my sucralose intake - I think it makes my sugar cravings worse. Plus it gives me a headache if I eat too much. A Quest bar a day is about all the sucralose I can stand. I made sure nothing else I eat contains it.

@@CowgirlJane I can definitely see that. It's funny, I have one a day and I always look forward to it like it really is a candy bar but they never live up to expectations. Intense Cravings While PMSing

@InnerSurferGirl I actually became a little too infatuated with the chocolate calcium chews. Once I started including them in my daily calorie count (they definitely have calories and I kept ignoring that because they're vitamins) that helped scale them back. I looked at the WonderSlim but they're made with sucralose and I try really hard to limit my sucralose intake because it gives me headaches. Too bad really, I wanted to try their Irish cream hot chocolate.
