I have been consistently reaching out each week and I'm sure my PCP is completely annoyed with me but I just want it submitted for approval so I know when already!

I'm so glad I am not alone! I am a researcher by nature. Once I actually knew about the surgery as an option I began researching full on. I don't want to do something uninformed. I am waiting on insurance approval now. I think I finally got my PCP's office to send all the information they need. I'm ready. I'm excited. I bought a Tervis cup this weekend to train myself to sip and not use a straw. That and slowing down my eating are going to be challenges for me. I drink a ton if Water now but I can finish a bottle in just a few minutes now. I know that won't be possible later. I also found these awesome wrap skirts that will still fit as I'm transitioning to smaller clothes. I was sort of mourning my lovely skirts that fit me now but since I found these I'm ready to purge my wardrobe now!

Feeling better Wearing heels again Buying clothes without having to shop in a plus size store Getting off all my meds Riding bikes with all my family Criss crossing my legs But mainly just getting my life back and regaining health

And they don't even have to copy it - just fill out the form and fax it on to the surgeon'a office.

I hope they submit yours today! My doctor's office is being painful. I called about a script refill yesterday and just thought I'd ask where they were at on the five year weight thing. She lied to me again! Told me they were allowed up to 30 days to get information from my chats then told me they are required to have five years of chart scanned in before admitting that they don't actually have but two scanned. I asked for the office manager, got told they don't have a records girl and that they are not equipped to copy years of my chart. I told her I don't need years - I just need five freaking numbers! And I told her they have had three weeks already because I dropped the form off on April 20th. I left it with I will be calling back next Tuesday and expect that it will be submitted before then. Next up is my gf who is a NP having her bf who is a lawyer calling asking why they are holding my records hostage. Seriously, the form is very clear and very simple but they only submitted it partially filled out because they are too lazy to pull the paper chart! I am their worst nightmare because I write down every date, who I speak with, what the result was, and what I have asked them to do. And I'm not one to blindly follow just because they tell me to...

I can't like that but I'm in the same boat with scheduling. Between our vacation in June with my BFF (who I am not planning to tell I'm having the surgery just because she will judge me) and my kids camps etc, I won't have an open window of time til the first of August. But my surgeon's office schedules 8-10 weeks out from approval so if I want it that first part of August (ideal for me) then it needs to be approved by the end of May at the latest. I will tell my PCP about the records thing. She is a great dr but her staff stinks. Seems it is either a great staff and an ok doctor or a great dr and crappy staff.

I have the last of my six weight appointments on Monday, meet with the surgeon on Friday, and have my psych eval on the next Monday. Now that I made up my mind to do this, I just want to start! Anyone else feel like that? I told my love that I didn't plan on hiding it but I wouldn't discuss it with people who don't love and support me. They have no idea why I am doing it and I don't feel the need to explain. That choice is pretty freeing. I'm enjoying research mode and you all are awesome sharing your journeys.

Mine is with my insurance and was really nice and helpful both times I have chatted with her. She gave me her direct line, told me to call anytime with any questions, and was very encouraging.

Did you do measurements? For me, the only way for it to register in my head is inches gone. Clearly if you are down that many pant sizes, they you have lost.

I just started to consider this surgery as a way to regain some of my health. My insurance will cover it - yea! But one of the guidelines makes no sense - the wording. Perhaps someone else can clarify for me? It says that I have to complete a 6 month supervised diet prior to the surgery with monthly visits/weigh ins at my drs for 12 Months prior to surgery. Surely that is a mistake? How on earth can one do a six month diet and 12 monthly Weigh ins? I haven't called yet to clarify but thought I'd see of anyone else had this?

When I talked to the girl at the insurance company she said it had to be six months in the last two years but didn't have to be consecutive. It's the weirdest thing. Thanks. This forum is awesome btw.
