Medic51 got a reaction from TammyDTM in Anyone in Iowa?
    Hello,
I am in Albia and had my Sleeve done 3 days ago on the 16th. Everything went well and I am feeling great other than some pain when getting up from a chair. I also have BCBS insurance and when I started my journey I was required to do the 6 month diet and nutrition education. With what I learned in those sessions I am glad that I was made to take them as it will help sooooo much post surgery when I am able to start eating regular food again. With what I learned from the Dietician I was able to drop 69 pounds prior to surgery and my wife has lost 61 pounds as well.
I understand the feeling of not wanting to take any classes and the elation when you find out it is no longer required, but this is a major surgery and more importantly, a major life style change that will last forever and the more you can learn and understand before going into the surgery the better you will be able to cope with all the new changes in your life.
I wish us all well on our new journey!!!!!
    Darin.

I'm also LDS and came across this situation regarding sacrament this past Sunday. I just took a small piece of the bread and nibbled a tiny bit and let it dissolve in my mouth. The Lord knows our situations.

The first week after my surgery I was in line going up for communion and then it hit me. OH NO what should I do? Then I decided that the Body of Christ was not going to hurt me. I just keep it in my mouth until it melts and it has been no problem. I have taken communion 2 times since my surgery and it has not been an issue at all.

I'm 6 months post-op, but I still have things I am looking forward to. The main one right now is being able to ride all the roller coasters when I go on vacation at the end of this month. My family went to Dollywood last spring for vacation and I couldn't fit on most of the coasters and my husband didn't want to go on them alone, so he missed out on them. This year I will be able to fit in all the seats and I can't wait to ride them all and give my husband a chance to enjoy them as well!
