Just try to relax, once they get your blood work, they send it to the surgeons office & they get your file together. You are probably going to have surgery in late June or July. They schedule it really fast! You can always email your advocate for updates, mine always replied b/c I was bugging the crap out of her lol

Yoyo, if took about a month be very patient! Don't worry you WILL have a hernia & even if you don't they will say you do so that your insurance pays for the hernia repair & then you pay for the sleeve out of pocket.

Operationskinny2k15- Hey! I actually had my surgery scheduled for last month but had to reschedule due to a stomache infection, and so now I'm having surgery on May 27th. Do not worry, you will have a hernia just like I did. I am excited but scared to start my new life. Leo, so they let you finance the EDG with the surgery too? That's what they told me they were going to do with mine. Just wanted to make sure b/c I don't have the money to pay up front when I get my EDG.

Amber, the hospital told me its financed with the $3,500. But I guess I will find out when I go on the 2nd. I really hope I don't have to pay my deductible b/c its $500. ????

Leo, what's an unfill? Did you have to pay anything when you got your EDG? Or is that included in the $3,500? Also, did they tell you right away if you had a hernia? I'm so worried and stressed I can't even sleep. I wish I knew for sure if I have one.

So after your EDG you had your pre op with your doctor? And no I do not take anything or have acid reflux that's why I'm worried.

Amber did you end up having a hernia? And how long after the EDG did they let you know if you did or didn't have one?

PlanoMom, I am in the same boat! I have my EGD on April 2nd! I am so scared I wont have a hernia! If I dont then I cant afford the surgery

UPDATE: EGD will be April 2nd to check if I have a hernia. Everyone please keep me in your prayers!

dtritt, I got a call yesterday with the dates from my advocate. EGD will be April 2nd, surgery April 13th! I'm still scared that I won't have a hernia. Are you going through the hernia program too?
