  1. I'm rebuying the Hunter rain boots my husband bought me for Christmas. I had to return them because they didn't fit around my stupid calves!
  2. I had lost about 30 lbs! At 13 weeks out I have lost 38 lbs! Slow and steady! SW245 CW 207 Very excited about my loss, I'm happy it's slower because I only shared my surgery with a select group of people, so this way it isn't SO obvious! Also my skin is looking good! Good luck to you!
  3. I was very happy with Dr. Zeni. I feel I got great care at St. Mary's. And it's really close to my house! ????

    What does full feel like?

    Great! Thanks for your reply!
  5. Hi Everyone, I was sleeved 8 days ago! I am feeling awesome! Working on getting my liquid and Protein in, some days are easier than others. I'm just curious about what being full feels like to you? When I have had enough which isn't very much, I get a tight feeling kind of right under my boobs. Is that similar to anyone else? Are you eventually able to eat and drink more? I can get about 5 spoonfuls of creamed Soup down and I am done. Just curious of others experiences! Thanks !
  6. I was sleeved on Monday and I have just started feeling pretty good. The hardest thing for me is sleeping and getting comfortable. Oh and dry heaves! Ouch! I have had them a few times! Yikes! Called my doctor and they just doubled my anti-nausea meds. Hopeful that makes them go away! Hope everyone else is doing well!

    June 15th, anyone?

My surgery date is June 15th as well. My preop diet consists of 1000 calories a day for 8 days prior to surgery and the last three are clear liquids. I am doing OK with the preop diet, not perfect of course. It's really hard! Especially working in a school and there are so many celebrations this last week before summer! But I am going to rock out the clear liquid diet! I hope! I am feeling excited but I become a little more nevous each day. I am not nervous for the procedure but for the recovery. I just dont know how I am going to feel. My mother in law has offered to come and stay with me since my husband works and my mom is disabled. The closer it gets, the more I regret telling people. I have one friend (also over weight) who is really giving me a hard time. She is just so opinionated. If I were getting a new set of boobs I don't think anyone would have very much to say about it. People are just annoying. Just had to vent. Good luck to everyone! Looking forward to seeing your progress!
  8. I can't believe I will be sleeved in less than two weeks! I called my surgeon's office to confirm that I had all my ducks in a row and they told me I am good to go on June 15th! I can't believe this is happening so fast, even though when I started this process in Octobter it seemed like it would take forever. Enjoying this last week of eating my favorite food and trying to finish up all my favorite wines I have on hand. I start my pre-op diet on Monday which consists of 1000 calories a day followed by a liquid diet three days before surgery. Good luck eveyone, I am looking forward to seeing everyone's progress. On another note, my mom has come around, a little. She bought me a new robe for my hospital stay. She was not thrilled I was having this procedure, but at least now she will acknowledge it. See you on the losers bench!
  9. HI Everyone! This message is coming to you from the waiting room to get all my final surgical testing done! So far I've had my gallbladder ultrasound, next up is bloodwork, chest x-ray and EKG! Then I am good to go after my PCP clears me next week! Woohoo! I also splurged last week and bought a Vitamix blender. I'm hoping this will encourage me to get my Protein Shakes in because it blends the ice to milkshake like consistency... And you can make all kinds of yummy Soups etc. with it! I can't wait to play with my new toy! I hope everyone is progressing well! Can't wait!
  10. Good Morning Sleevers, I had my presurgical seminar last night and I am mixed ball of emotions! But more than anything I am excited. I am not very excited about having a catheter. I guess my surgeon caths everyone. Oh well, I will survive. I feel like because I have done so much research, I didn't learn anything earth shattering, but I got a lot of my quetions answered. What shocked me was some of the other people in my seminar and the little research they had done! Wow! Anyways, I go in for the rest of my pre-op tests in two weeks and hopefully everything will be good to go for June 15th! Hope everyone else is progressing well!

    Unsupportive Mom :(

Thank you everyone for your kind words and advice! I'm trying to distance my self a little bit from her until after my surgery. This is hard because I am an only child and my husband and I only live 3 miles away. My only problem is who do I bring to my pre-surgery support seminar next week? I was planning on bringing my mom, but since she has been so unsupportive I don't think that's a good idea. My husband just might have to take a day off work!

    Anyone getting married?

No! But I wish I would have had this done before my wedding. I got married on 7/11/2014 ! Good luck!
  13. Of anyone who should understand why I am doing this procedure, I would think it would be my mom. My mom has struggled with obesity most of her adult life. She has had several surgeries because of obesity related issues. In 2014 she had 4 surgeries and almost had to skip my bridal shower and wedding because she was so sick. My theory is, have this one surgery now, on my terms, and prevent having to have my knees and hips replaced when I am her age. Her theory is why screw up a "healthy" body when you don't need to. I'm 29, married and "healthy", just overweight. The only time I have ever been a normal weight was when I had a drug problem when I was a teenager. My mom always makes snarky comments about me having surgery. And this weekend it really came to head. We ran into two of aunts when out running errands on Friday. Its bad enough when she makes comments to me, but it really upsets me when she says things in front of other people. Especially people who I haven't even decided if I am going to share with them that I am having the surgery done. So my mom told both my aunts that I am having this done, then she went into her laundry list of reasons why it's not a good idea. I feel that I should be able to decide who I want to share my news with and who I don't want to tell. I am not doing this in secrecy, but I'm not sharing it with everyone. I have told my immediate family, 2 coworkers and about 5 close friends. I'm sure everyone will eventually find out, but I want to tell them on my terms. It would be just be really nice to be supported, especially by my mom. Thanks for listening.
  14. I am moving right along as well! I'm glad to see everyone else too! I had my endoscopy on Tuesday and it was a piece of cake! Next I have to schedule my other pre-surgical tests and my appointment with my PCP and I am good to go. Very excited, not really nervous at all! I feel like I am being held hostage in this body and I am being rescued on June 15th! Love hearing everyone's progress and experiences! Looking forward to our transformations!

    Young Gastric Sleeve Patients

Congratuations. I'm 29 and I am being sleeved on 6/15. I too wish I would have made this decision years ago. I was married last year and would have loved to be thinner for my big day! I have decided to tell my immediate family, 2 close colleagues at work, and about 5 close friends. All but one of my girlfriends (surprisingly she is more overweight than me) have been supportive. I am really doing this because my husband I want to start a family. And the thought of gaining even more weight is terrifying. I don't want to be the "fat mom". I want to be able to go out and do things with my kids, not just sit on the sidelines. Even though we will have to wait a year or so to have baby, this is the best choice for me and my body. Good luck to you!
