  1. So when I was at me pre-op testing last week, my b-12 came back a little low, and the doctor said to start taking a supplement as after surgery it tends to be low as well. So I got the B-12, and on the back it says discontinue use 2 weeks prior to surgery, so I called the office and told them that. They said, if the doctor told you take it, it should be no problem, and we do not tell anyone to discontinue its use, prior to surgery. I still feel weird about taking it. Maybe I will go and get a different brand that does not have this dis-claimer. I bought a generic rite aid blend. Thoughts?

  2. oh maybe I will call then. I am 3-4 Protein Shakes a day, clear broth, I tried the thai one yesterday and it was so spicy, that I may do a splash of it in the chicken. I can do the sugar free popsicles, they were gross, the Jello is eh, but it is not a shake or broth - LOL. I have been adding Metamucil for Fiber too, and that helps feel full. I ate a no sugar added 40 calorie fudgsicle last night. It was good, which leads me to believe although it is on the full liquid diet list, post op, I cannot eat it now. ONLY 6.5 MORE DAYS!

  3. Funny. I used to LIVE on Lean Cuisine. I got FAT on Lean Cuisine! And yes, it's full of sodium and other nastiness that I should have limiting as I used to have high blood pressure. Today, with normal blood pressure, I tend to cook my own stuff. I don't really limit salt and by pressure is normal unmedicated. I cook because I'm pickier about what I put in my mouth as I'm only gonna get a little and I want it to TASTE GREAT. Frozen dinners fill the empty spot, but lets face it, they don't taste great. I keep a few around for those times I want to be really lazy or need something quick but rarely go there any more. I just freeze my own frozen dinners from the leftovers. WAY better!

I usually make enough to freeze half, so maybe I will continue to do that, and maybe have a few on hand for a lurch. I think Cooking healthy is the way to go!!!!!

  4. I have a 7 and 1/2 year old that weighs 52 pounds, and a 4 year old that is 45. My doctor said 30 days to lift them. Not concerned about my 7 year old. I am concerned with my 4 year old(just turned 4 in Jan), as I often now have to grab him to get him moving to climb in to his car seat, and he still likes to run and not stand by side. So I am worried I will be running and chasing him for hours, I know that sounds funny. I am also nervous that the kids will jump on me. They do that now, when they want to be close.
