  1. I am 60, surgery was this year August, 2015 this was the best decision I ever made. I am one of the those people who need a wake up call. I am more aware of understanding how and what kind of foods that work with my body. This is a life changing surgery for me. I am really excited about reaching my weight goal of 140, the doc say 160. I want to say congrats to anyone that has made this decision to have surgery.

  2. Hi, I am Kaiser Georgia, I was referred to the same weight management information class, this class is to inform you of the difference Bariatric WLS, very good class. I started back in November 2014 and just getting to sit down with the surgeon May 29, 2015. I have been given my surgery date August 5, 2015. Its a process for sure but; you need all the information to may a informed decision. You can ask me any questions about my journey, I will be more than happy to share.

  3. Just had meeting with surgeon on May 29, 2015, my surgery date is August 5, 2015. I started this journey last year in November 2014, researching, classes, etc. I am ready, more excided than afraid. I have second guess myself at times, but it doesn't last long. The only concern I do think about is the extra skin, but at the end of the day I am going for better health.

  4. Your story sounds like mines, just tried of being tried. I just finished 3-4 months of behavior health and healthy eating classes. waiting for final approval and then I can make an appointment with my surgeon and get a date, can hardly wait. Will keep in touch and compare progress reports, if that's okay with you.

  5. Don't beat yourself up, this is life changing decision so well have so many emotions. I have said the same thing: but at the end of day I had to chose better health. Something in our psyche and we are not perfect Change your mind set to positives thinking and give yourself a pat on the back; you have been working on this since August of last year you deserve the out come.

  6. I am in pre-op stage as well; haven't gotten an surgery date. I have a homework/goals sheet I am following now. I started last year in Nov/Dec with my journey. I have attended on bariatric surgery class, 3 out of 4 nutrition sessions, 3 out of 4 behavioral health sessions, one support group and reading/research tows of books, online information any thing I can get my hands on. I am so ready; but a little nervous, after I finish maybe one of two sessions I can make an appointment to sit down with the doctor. You stated something about liver shrinkage, what do that consist of ? Have you found a good Protein shake yet? Do you know how far in advance you need to stop drinking coffee?
