Well I did it 2 days post on...
I think as the swelling goes down the water drinking gets easier. It's been easier for me these past couple of days. I don't think you should worry that the water will stretch things. That being said, go slow.

Sleeved on 4/29 intense pain on left side when standing
Yup! It's that big left incision. I still have it too, but it's getting better everyday. Doctor said it was normal because that's where most of the "action" happens during surgery.

Well I did it 2 days post on...
I'm trying with the water, but geeze it's not easy. I've only had about 30oz not counting the protein shake I sipped on all day. I used to drink water like crazy before but this sip sip sip crap sucks. If I do more than a sip I get gas bubbles and uncomfortable.

Just sleeved April 29th - Oh the nausea!
So, just a brief update since I know there were many getting sleeved this week. I was sleeved Wed April 29th and was released from hospital yesterday May first (2 night stay). I'm actually happy I stayed the 2 nights because the day after surgery sucked. I thought I had made a big mistake with this. Happy to report that I haven't had nausea all day. No horrible headaches either. I had to cut the pain meds completely to get rid of headache. Now I'm just really sore and tired. For all sleeved this week - hang in there.

Avocado
I love avocados but it might make you gassy early on. I would try very little and see how you feel.

Belch trapped when eating!
I get this is I go too fast or take bites bigger than the tip of a spoon. I'm hoping it will subside, but try much smaller bites and eat at baby's pace. Not fun, but not much about this is.

Well I did it 2 days post on...
For me, the second day was the worst. I had terrible nausea and a horrible headache. Apparently, the headache was from the pain mess. Once I stopped those my headache subsided. I'm 4 days out and still very achey everywhere and tired, but no nausea and no headache. I'll take that over the other anytime. Feel better soon.

Glad to hear it goes away because when it's bad I start to feel like it will never pass.

Just sleeved April 29th - Oh the nausea!
Happy to report I was just sleeved. Five small incisions and not too much pain. Soreness mainly. The nausea has been terrible though. Unrelenting even with the Zofran. I hope tomorrow is better. At least I'll be going home.

Any April Sleevers?
The preop diet is killing me! I'm hungry cranky and by 2:00 pm I usually have a killer headache. I MISS MY COFFEE!!

Blue?
I'm in the same boat. I'm at the end of my first preop diet week and my emotions are all over the place. I've also had a dull headache that comes and goes. I'm guessing it's the carb withdrawal

Nausea on Pre-op diet
Hello all. My doc put me on a pre-op diet that consists of a protein shake for breakfast and lunch. For dinner I can have low carb meal. I'm extremely nauseous throughout the day and usually have a headache by 5:00. Any suggestions on how I can feel better or prevent this from happening?

Getting Sleeved in South Florida (Newbie)
Hi Suto! Great to hear from a fellow Floridian. I have an appointment to see Dr Paul Wizman next Tuesday. I'm hoping to get a date for April, but not sure what hospital. I hear CC is great! I'm self pay though so it was too expensive for me.

Anyone familiar with BlisCare? I would like to hear you experience.
I am self pay and cannot go through with this if I don't have some sort of coverage for post surgical complications. I've heard Blis insurance does this. Any information you can share?

Will insurance cover post op complications for self payers?
Thank you all for your responses. I really appreciate it. After speaking with my insurance and reading the policy, it seems like they would not cover complications. I don't think I can expose my family to this kind of financial risk no matter how remote. I'll have to call my doc tomorrow and see what the options are. Feeling very disappointed.
