its very normal, I was exhausted after 3 days in the hospital, coming home taking a shower I had to rest the rest of the day, it took me about 2 weeks not to feel so exhausted any more.

being tired is pretty normal. stay hydrated and try to get in some protein and move around. things will turnaround soon. welcome to the losers bench!

I know I'm not getting enough water in because it hurts to drink and eat. I was very weak today I felt like was going to pass out

You just had surgery a few days ago, right? It gets easier as the swelling from surgery goes down. Experiment with different temperatures of water--some can't handle really cold water after surgery and prefer room temp, other (like me) do better with it ice-cold. I use Mio flavor stuff in my water a lot, helps me to get more in.

As for pills--what kind are you trying to take? If they are tablets (rather than capsules) you may be able to crush them and mix them in a protein shake or something. Personally, I had to start cutting my antidepressant in half and take half in the AM and half in the PM after surgery because it made me really nauseated if I took the whole thing at once. That's the kind of thing that you just have to figure out as you go, unfortunately! Good luck, and just keep sipping!

What kind do you have? I'm assuming they are chewable but that they make you nauseated, which seems to happen to a lot of folks early on.

buy/use a timer - you can set if for 5, 10 minutes (or whatever)

that will help remind/MAKE you drink more - as a newbie especially

water is essential - you don't want to get dehydrated!! hope you are not

having any other problems - good luck - kathy
