I think the speed of the weight loss can freak people out too. She's seen you lose so much so fast, if that same trend continued-you would waste away. It can be alarming. Perhaps you need to tell her about how you will level out out soon and the weight loss will stop. I'm glad you have an LOL about this rather than being annoyed or discouraged. Congratulations on your progress!

Even if you have osteoarthritis, walking is good for you. When I as 100# overweight I did the 3 day walk, so walked ALOT to train for it.
    Some things I Learned:
    Excellent shoes, replaced often
    Stretch including calves and shins
Add some other strength exercise..doesn't have to be lifting weights, but lunges, planks etc
Back off if you feel like you are overtraining. That doesn't mean stop it means scale back a little bit until your fitness catches up to your ambition
Take 1-2 days off a week to allow recovery. Since you primarily walk, maybe that means your day off is 1-2 miles not the 5 plus. I do high intensity spinning bike and was having trouble...realized as I had amped up the intensity I forgot to add rest days. You absolutely need recovery especially now that you added jogging.

Relaxing a bit this afternoon....sipping coffee and watching the Patriots-Broncos game......about to go get ready for a long night shift at work.
Wife is doing son's laundry and found that I'd left a load of my stuff in the dryer and forgotten about it when it was done.
She walks into the den where I'm chilling....holding up a graphic t-shirt...skulls and stuff all over it.
"Hey,.....is this JP's shirt (our 16 year old XL shirt wearing teenager) or.......is it......your's ?" "It'd fit him, but I don't think he'd wear something this scary looking".
    "Mine.........shirt is mine" sez me.
"Oh........okay". Walks off.....then comes back and looks at me again. "Really ?".
"Yup. My shirt. Sorry, forgot to get my stuff outa there".
"No....that's okay.....it just looks.....much different than what you normally wear", she says before leaving me to the game.
I wanted to jump up and give her my best Leslie Chow pump & spray gesture and announce, "A whole otta stuff is different !!!"....but settled for a shoulder shrug and returned to the game.
Little T-Rex better keep his paws off my new clothes, too.

Sounds like you have already begun your turn-around.
Just a few minutes ago, I posted this at the end of my remark:
    My mantras for 2016 are:

    Eat Leaner -Train Meaner
Get Fit In The Gym - Lose Weight In The Kitchen
    Hunger Is Not An Emergency
    Walk Away From The chocolate

You have to eliminate excuses and road locks one by one. You'll get there. Please hang around here for support.

Sat in the booth at Waffle House and had tons of room to spare. It used to be a tight squeeze.
Also setup a new laptop, and it actually fit on my lap, very comfortably.

Not sure if this is a NSV
I was unpopular in high school. The weight was a factor. I have recently connected with some people from the small town I grew up in. A neighbor girl I grew up with, just posted a derogatory message to me on Facebook. I was surprised it took me back to being the fat girl in school for a moment.
Back when I was young her comment would have beat me down. It has no effect on me now.
I make no apology’s for living a fabulous life. I'm proud of all I have worked for to overcome. I'm thrilled I look totally different than I did in high school. I'm more beautiful on the inside than I have ever been. I'm truly happy.
Thinking about my class reunion next year--- She has given me great motivation to maintain and get out and experience life.
From all the unpopular kids back in the day..I salute her for “believing” she is still the popular beautiful mean girl after 30 years.

Congratulations! I have a 316 day streak. My longest one yet! I am really proud of myself for that. I think its mighty brave of you to stop logging your food and exercise on a daily basis. I don't think I will ever be at that point because every time I eat, drink and exercise I think about the fact that I am accountable for it and there will be a record of it for me to re-examination when I falter.

I totally agree, we live in a world that sickly revolves around food and alcohol. That's my point. It's talked about, it's on tv, radio, tv, billboards, etc.... It's sick. I also dvr and fast forward or Netflix as well. I never drank before surgery so that was never a focus for me in the first place. Well I stopped drinking in my 20's anyway. But now I like you said eat for fuel, period. Ughhhh I am so glad I can come here and be understood. It's a very lonely feeling.

TammyDTM reacted to Recycled in 763 day streak.....I guess that is enough
My Fitness Pal has been great. I have logged my food and exercise routines for 763 days straight. But enough is enough. Time to let it go.
I pretty much know "what" and "how much" I can eat and how much exercise it takes to keep things in check. Believe me, it's no picnic after you reach goal. Deviate any little bit and the weight pops back on like a compressed sponge.
The hunger is back, the cravings are back......My guess is the ghrelin hormone is probably back in full production too. And the ole sleeve is easily capable of stretching past that post surgery luxury of only 3 ounces. All which makes maintenance an increased challenge.
But on the plus side.....and it's a big plus......I LOST IT ALL!!!!! I REACHED GOAL!!!! I feel good and look great. So there is no way I'm letting obesity creep back on me ever again.
Yeah, I monitored things closely for 763 days.......and it helped tremendously. But I got it now. I eat things here and there that are either too sweet, too many calories, or too much at once. But it keeps me from going nuts.
I use my clothes as my "scale". If I feel them even slightly tighter, I increase the exercise. watch the portions closer and eliminate any extra junk stuff until things fit correctly. I can handle a few pounds.....I know how to now and can control it.
The surprise is I thought that once I reached goal, I would be able to eat alot more daily calories in maintenance without gaining. Hasn't worked out that way. And none of the charts that indicate what I should be able to have daily are even in the ball park. Same applies to how much weight you're expected to lose eating a specific amount or when you burn so many calories during exercise. Guess that's why I was always obese. Typical charts and functions never applied to me.
So, get ready. When you get to maintenance, if you're anything like me, you ignore all the charts and tables and have used the time to figure out your own body's needs and functions. Develop you own diets and exercise plans......and realize you will have to strictly adhere to them the rest of your life. And you will stick to it because it is sooo worth it.
So goodbye MFP.......I don't need you anymore. (I will still check things on it from time to time) It's time to get on with my new normal....... I got this. .

Well 1Cor, it DEF will happen, and yes it's a part of the process. But I hope that knowing that we've all been there and survived it will encourage you to just let it happen, keep working out and eating right, you're doing gr8! Just remember how b4 surgery, we gained, not stalled but gained and at least now after the surgery, you know that it too shall pass and Lord willing, you'll be back to losing. As much as we all dreaded it, it's actually a good thing for our bodies to be able to rejuvenate, recharge and reset after such massive weight losses. Although the docs, and praise God for them, had done something to our bodies to help us with significant weightloss, God made this temple and thank God that He won't allow more on our bodies than it can handle! Hopefully I gave encouragement to you and not just rambling on, at least that was my goal. I'm a revision from sleeve to bypass due to 2yrs suffering from vomiting due to severe acid reflux and a stricture and guess what, 3 weeks out exactly, my body stopped losing! It just has to happen:) and now I'm going on my 5th week and started back losing, not that that's my ultimate goal now but I still want to lose a little bit more. Take care and hang on and in there with us. We have your back!!
