Urgh Montifiore sends me in circles everytime! No one ever knows anything. This doc sends me here but oops that was wrong go here oh wait u forgot go here I quit this hospital. I'm just going to go forward with Jacobi as originally planned.

Hey everyone I know this post is a lil old but I also have healthfirst and the reps as well as a surgeon (not mine) told me they do not require 6month diet. Hope I don't have to, I meet my surgeon on Tuesday

Hi ladies, can you update me on ur experience? I have the same insurance and with monti. I was told there is no 6month wait with healthfirst? I even called them to make sure. Did the surgeon require this? Thanks

Thanks for ur input. I'm not opposed to doing any pre-work I was just kind of shocked. I was mentally preparing to jump through hoops with this insurance company lol I'm going to call and speak to someone else just to make sure!

I haven't even seen my PCP yet to discuss WLS but I wanted to call the insurance so I so my homework. They told me they have no requirements or clearances listed under this surgery. All I needed was to discuss this with my PCP and if she agreed she would submit paperwork to insurance. This doesn't sound correct at all. No 6 month diet? No psych evaluation? Then I thought... Would my PCP require this and not insurance? What do you guys think? Btw I have healthfirst NY

Next week I meet with my PCP to ask her about getting the sleeve. I'm so nervous she will say no, or judge, or that all my referrals with take a million years to go through and then of course the nerves of waiting to be approved. For now I'm just a nervous wreck about the PCP saying no. Vent over
