Hello fellow banders! I just had my surgery yesteray at noon. My journey for the lap band has been smooth sailing...hopefully that keeps up. I had full insurance approvel from Humana within 24 hours! My surgeon said he was amazed how fast it was approved. My starting BMI is 38 and I am only 5 1/2 so you can imagine almost 200 lbs on such a short frame..well, you know it was bad. I also have borderline DM2 and HTN.

I am sitting in my bedroom thinking how much it hurts to breathe in...I had a lot of chest pain post op in the PACU and ended up staying 5 hours. EGK was normal. I hope the pain under my diaphragm is normal. I also have a very swollen pocket anteriorly to my belly button. I also noticed that I am still hungry. I'm on liquid diet for now; full liquids tom. Any suggestions are most welcomed.

I have been on a diet yo yo for over a decade. I would lose it and gain even more back. I tried every diet pill possible. I've hired a traner at LA Fitness. Seems like after menoause, it all went down hill. I was 35 at the time of hysterectomy and am now 40. My goal is get to a healthy weight while maintaining muscle. I am happy I found this website for support. Dr. Gorjala is amazing. he is very understanding and his staff is so helpful. I don't have negatives to post other than I am still hungry. I was told I'd have no appetite for at least 10 days. He will not fill my port until 2 weeks out. He is a pefectionist and wants me allow the "pouch" to form correctly and not rush into anything. I respect that. I will keep yall updated. Thanks for taking time to read about my journey.
