1 month stall 3 months out

i was in the same position. I had rny on 4/16. I weighed 300 starting out and stalled 2 months out just under the 50lb mark. I yo-yo'd between 252 and 256 losing and gaining the same weight for 4 weeks. Today I finally broke through to 249 after weighing 252 yesterday. Finally hit my 50lb goal! I started stalling right after I started my exercise program. I don't know if I can call it an official stall because I believe I lost inches; although, I did not measure. I have had a cold for the last few days, so I am not sure if that had anything to do with my weight loss. I have continued to monitor my food intake and exercise on my fitness pal. I have added more Protein to my diet by eating every 2-3 hours. Before I only ate the three meals and a Protein shake. This met my requirement of 60-80 grams of protein a day. I consume more protein now with the two Snacks being either a piece of chicken or a greek yogurt. I hope to see the scale continue to move down.

    Able to Eat Almost Anything

i too am able to eat what i want. I had the RNY and I haven't experienced any complications. I had a friend who got sleeved two weeks behind me, and she is having trouble drinking anything. She says it hurts. I feel blessed to be able to eat whatever, but it does take me choosing to change my diet for optimal success. I know people who have had the gastric bypass and eat what ever they want. They lost weight, but probably not to the extent they could have. I want a different life, so I will have to make changes, but I do take it as a blessing. I don't want to experience the pain I see my friend going through. Counting my blessings...

    April surgeries

I am one week out post-op. I had surgery on the 16th. Everything went smoothly. I stayed on top of my pain meds, so I didn't feel too much discomfort. I walked a lot and had plenty of ice chips. Besides that, I slept most of the time. The worst was the nausea as the anesthesia wore off. My suggestions are to bring a robe or shorts with an elastic band to wear under your hospital gown as you walk around. Socks if your feet get cold, but my hospital provided them, something to wear home, and basic hygiene products. I only use pain meds at night a little now because of the discomfort on the left side. Congrats to all who have crossed over, and praying for those who are on the way!

    April surgeries

Having trouble with the liquid diet??? I was!!! but I am almost there! Thursday!!! Super excited! What saved me.... broth, but not just any broth. I bought wonton soup from my favorite Chinese restaurant and asked for no wontons. It is so much better than the broth I have made at home. It cost about the same as well. It's clear and delicious! I actually feel like I am eating a tasty meal? I also like the onion soup from bennihana and found a copy cat recipe online. Its a combo of chicken and beef broth. I simply strain out the onion and omit the mushroom.

    April surgeries

@@TXMissy and anyone else having issues with the liquid diet, I have found that the flavored chicken broths have helped me a lot. I believe it is swanson brand. They have flavors like Tuscan Chicken, Louisiana Cajun, and Thai Ginger, etc. Also, my doctor gave me the option to make the protein drink at home. 1 qt. skim or 1% milk and 1 1/3 cup of powdered milk. The only "sweet " foods I consume would be sugar free jello, juice or popsicle. I choose not to eat those too often. I simply enjoy a shake a snack ( popsicle or jello) a shake for, some soup, another shake, and then maybe a popsiclein the evening. Hope this helps. The struggle is real, but no of us are alone.
