  1. Thanks for all the responses!
  2. Just counting calories and lowered my carb intake.
  3. No stomach or reflux issues. I have already had my gallbladder out (horrible attack after my 2nd c-section). Thanks for all the feedback☺️
  4. Thanks for the response. Should I request one if he doesn't do it standard?
  5. Just a little north----Hampton Roads, VA
  6. October for me!!! I finish my 12 month insurance requirement on September 30. I get my date at the end of this month, but I'm thinking It will be around October 6-14.
  7. Is an EGD required for all patients? I am planning on being sleeved in October after completing my twelve month insurance requirements on September 30th!!!! I meet with my surgeon later this month and this is one of many questions I have. However, I wanted to put it out here too. I don't really know what an EGD is or why it is needed. My initial visit almost a year ago indicated I wouldn't have a lot in the way of pre-op testing, but an EGD was never discussed. I'm healthy, just morbidly obese. I would like to get as much of my required testing done by mid August if possible since I teach school. I know my labs, chest X-ray, and ekg will be very close to my surgery date. I'd like to minimize my time off from work if possible and get any "other" stuff out of the way now ☺️. Thanks for any feedback.
  8. I'm October too!!! I had a 12 month insurance program ????. I meet with my surgeon again at the end of this month and will get my date. I will also find out what pre-op testing I need and get that all set up. I know I will have nutritional appointments, plus some tests. I already have my psychology appointment set up for August 3. I will meet with my surgeon again one week before the surgery. After completing monthly phone calls since September 2014---I'm sooo ready! It's exciting to see posts about October sleeves and know I'm finally going to be one of those people!!!!
  9. There has only been one other person I've read about having a one year "hoop" on this board! I think there should be one set standard!!!! A year is a long time---if it is medically necessary, provide the required info and keep going! I asked my "coach" provided/required by my insurance, "how many people have life changing weight loss after having 20-30 minute phone conferences once a month for 12 months AND no longer need the surgery?" She referred me to BCBS. ????
  10. I'm going to be sleeved October also! VA here ☺️
  11. Keep your chin up. My program is 12 MONTHS! I graduate September 30th. I have an appointment at the end of July with the surgeon. The scheduler remembered me and said she was so impressed because most people drop out of the program. I only have 3 more phone calls!!!
  12. I had a year program ???? I graduate September 30th. Fingers crossed I'll be sleeved early October. Do you all get free protein powder samples? If so, how? Please share where I can sign up for a variety of samples.
  13. Mrs Kaje, When is your year up? I graduate on September 29th. I've lost 46 lbs since September 2014 until now. Just maintaining until surgery time. My eating habits have changed, just gotta add more exercise. That's easier for me in the summer since I teach.
  14. I have to wait 12 months. ???? fingers crossed I'll be sleeved the beginning of October.
  15. I live in Williamsburg! Like 5 minutes from Busch. We love it there!!!!!
  16. Awesome Job!!! ???? I can't wait to have the same pictures. I was a 22/24. I've been dieting and counting calories on my own while completing the insurance requirement. Ive lost 41lbs on my own and am a 20 now. I'm still a ways out from surgery (Oct 2015). I really worry about the hair loss. I have thin hair now ????
  17. My member book/benefits is online in a PDF file. It clearly outlines the program and what must be done to qualify. I wish it wasn't 12 months!!! My PCP and surgeon both states it is unusual to have such a long program. It is what it is. Now I have to play by their rules to have it covered.
  18. I have BCBS through the State of VA. I have a 12 month program also.
  19. October 2015 ???? 12 month program with my insurance ????
  20. Hi! I'm a lurker and made an account just to let you know you are not alone!!! I'm on my husband BCBS health insurance (he is a state employee) and I have to do the 12 month nutritional coaching program also! I started September 30, 2014. I have to do 1 call a month and I have to graduate the day after my first call. It ends up being 13 calls. Fingers crossed I'll get sleeved in October. Just know you are not alone ????
