virgo66 got a reaction from Kaye21 in Tears of joy-Onederland!
Today, for the first time in 24 years, I weigh < 200 lbs! I am a band to bypass revision patient. Surgery was 3/23/15 and including the 15 I lost right before surgery, I'm down 60 lbs. It was quite emotional for me, but very uplifting too. I'm off my b/p meds and working out 5-6 days a week. I feel GREAT and this bypass is the best the decision ever!
thanks for listening to me Celebrate

Virgo66 yes, I had my band placed in 2008 and struggled with it to the point where I just ate junk to avoid getting sick. Even with the few complications I've had I don't regret the revision at all! I had my 6 week check up on Friday and i am at the lowest weight since I had my son in 2003.

What does your practice say is the next step? My doctor told me if I were denied he'd do a peer to peer call and felt confident he could get it through. It means more wait time and hoops to jump through but if it gets you approved, it's worth it. Don't give up yet

I believe every surgeon and bariatric clinic has slightly different rules to follow. I've heard differences in "the rules" many times here and other places.
My bariatric center has tons of support in many different delivery systems and no one ever mentions bending the rules, so I plan to do my best to stick with what I've been taught.
    Good luck
