  1. Who is eligible for a MGB? I have not read a lot of info on it.
  2. I'm from the Bronx! Having my surgery at Columbia Pres. Hi!!
  3. This really scares me! I'm hoping to lose 30 lbs more before surgery and work out 2-3 times a week now... I'm also 32. Hoping these factors will aid in not having to much lose skin on arms, legs and face.... I will on my tummy and possibly thighs. This all worries me ????
  4. I have similar concerns as the OP. I do NOT believe this is the "easy way out" however I think that we need to dig deep inside and figure out what works for us. I would like to use the sleeve as a tool for a healthy lifestyle. I don't want to write every little thing I eat, but I am planning my meals on sundays to include the protein and greens and carbs that is "recommended."I hope this change in lifestyle, exercise plus the sleeve will help me achieve my WLG.
  5. Dumping scares me! I know I'm not suppose to have those things but ahhhhh still
  6. Yay!! Congratssss. So happy for you
  7. Great! I hope my insurance covers my TT ????????
  8. Congrats and good luck!
  9. Yay! Finally someone on here with same doctor. When is your surgery scheduled? How far along in the process are you?
  10. No i should be sleeved sometime in July. I'm putting insurance through in May. I have 2 vacations in June then July I'm all open!
  11. Thank you all for your responses....dumping is one of my fears!
  12. Good luck! I have to wait until May to send everything to insurance. What other tests were required of you? I had to do the endoscopy, psyc eval, sleep study, 3 mth weight management, and 1 NUT visit.
  13. Hi all! I want to give feedback on sleevers and dumping.... Does it happen? What has been your experience with this? Thanks!
  14. Yay congratssssss! There's light at the end of the tunnel ????
  15. Hi all! So today I could say I am on some sort of a high. I met with my center for the 1 of 3 mth weight management (wm) meetings. So far, I completed MOST req missing the 2 wm meetings, NUT meeting and surgeon. Additionally, I have to wait for my sleep apnea machine and figure out if they are going to have me use it permanently or a mth before surgery (my reading was 7.2avg (less than 5 is ok) so I have very mild apnea). The doc said I don't need a pulmonary clearance!!! Also, turns out I had some bacteria that they found after my endoscopy (my doc said she had it too and it's pretty common and nothing to worry about) and going to give me 2 week antibiotics. But other than that everything seems to be on the up and up. I lost an additional 10lbs since my first visit with the center and when discussing my eating she said I am right on target!!! ???????????? she even said that this one of the first times she doesn't have to go over what a patient needs to eat in detail. After the nut meeting they will put in my paperwork to insurance!!! Excited... Thank you all for
  16. I have also been on an emotional rollercoaster... I think most of us have!! Every time I went to the doctor they found something else that was "wrong." So now I am thinking about it in a positive way---Atleast now I know what's going on vs ignoring it all and continuing to be unhealthy. Good luck with your journey! It's difficult process, but hoping it's all well worth it.
  17. I was cleared!! It didn't take long and he was very pleasant. No need to go back either :-)
  18. I have my test today! I'm a bit nervous... Wish me luck!
  19. Thank you all seriously!! Your words have helped me through it today
  20. I justgot my results too! I have sleep apnea. They said I stopped breathing on average 7.2 time an hr at most 13 times an hour. This diagnosis just made me feel so horrible. I was recently diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure. So I just feel like my whoke health world is crumbling..... I am so nervous of wearing any machine because I am already so sensitive when sleeping... :-(
  21. Thank you!!! I needed this. I tried to delete the others but couldn't or don't know how actually lol
  22. Hi everyone! I stared my journey in Feb and have been going to all my pre surgery tests. I already knew my blood pressure was high and just started having diabetes. However my sleep apnea test showed I had mild sleep apnea. I'm 32 and just feel soooooo frustrated with all these diagnosis. I just feel plain sad.... Need some cheering up sigh
  23. Thank you so much suse2000!!! I am definitely overwhelmed with info and super excited. I am looking fwd to this journey but don't know what it will be like especially at first
