Is it being fake or is that they are just attracted to to a thinner, healthier individual? Because they didnt notice you or hit on you when you were big that makes them "fake"? If I am not attracted to someone, I do not send signals that I am. Now if a man or woman made it known to you that they were not attracted to you or you because of your size than you would definitely have a reason to feel that way you do, but again, if they are not attracted to a overweight individual that is their own right and most people are not. Even if it is a co-worker they have the right to be attracted to whatever they are attracted to. As long as they showed you respect and acknowledge you when you were big, you can't really be mad at them for being attracted to a more thinner, fitter you. We might not like it so much, but should we really be mad at them for them not having an attraction to us a unhealthy size if that is not what they are not attracted to? Most people you get hit on, will not even know you were big before surgery till you tell them and that should not fault those individuals either.
Now if these people called you disgusting, fat, ugly or every name in the book and then all of a sudden found you attractive after wls...well then Id tell em to eat sh*t

When someone starts paying more attention to you and you start getting more looks and smiles it is contagious. Your confidence goes through the roof and your mind begins to wonder. You might hate the fact that it took a dramatic weight loss for these people to notice, but the high will be so great, those feeling might get pushed aside and your curiosity will begin to grow. Before you know it, you're flirting with this guy/gal, taking lunch time walks together and BOOM...you find yourself in a situation where you're wanting to see how it feels to be single or with another man/woman. If you are worried about it, I would say you do not see yourself spending the rest of your life with this person. That is an entire different discussion @@vixen1978 (nice name )

I am pretty certain, that my personality type is rather harsh...and that anyone that all of a sudden pays attention to me will be on my $#!+ list. If they ignored me fat, but don't mind talking to me thin, then that's their problem. I don't want more attention. Especially when it means that NOW they notice you. To me that just cements the fact that they thought you were chopped liver before. So remember... all of the new compliments from people you haven't gotten any from before, are ONLY complimenting because you are thinner. If you had accomplished something else, not weight related, would they be so eager to make positive comments about that? If not, screw them. I don't need that kind of fake friendliness in my life.

@@vixen1978 I am in the same boat with a BMI of 40.7. I have been tracking my food as @@mclorrie mentions. I would like to loose 5 pounds during the 6 months, but more than anything my goal is NOT to gain any at the end of the 6 months. I did gain 1 last month. I hope to be sleeved mid June as well.

Oh wow. That sucks. I know a lot of people travel to Mexico for it. You have made me appreciate my short six months then.

Yes! I feel like a woman possessed. Lol. Good to know the obsession might pass, and I will eventually research myself out. I too am so excited about the clothes I will be able to wear. Thanks for sharing the website! Something else to focus on.

I think we all through the obsession stage i know i did. I watched every video i could find. Read every story then a friend told me about this site. I try not to think about my surgery is right around the corner.
March 30th will be here before i know it. All i can think about now is soon i wont be shopping in Lane Bryant or Ashley Stewart, now I'm looking in stores that i would not dare to go in. I'm excited thinking about being healthier thinner with a little sexy. It truly has been a long six month period in this six month period i have come to just love me for me and begin a new journey taking care of me. Good luck to everyone on this journey and even though i don't know any of you personally I THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL YOUR COMMENTS AND ADVISE IT TRULY HELPS.....we are truly in this together....

I know exactly what you're going through, I just finished my 4th weight check (2 more to go April 15 end date). I feel like it's an emotional roller coaster, but much needed. I'm taking the time to mentally prep (like others):
I cut out starches
started walking 15-20 minutes 3 x per week
64 oz Water intake
high Protein, low sugar meals
Sometimes- food measure
replace Breakfast w high Protein low sugar shake
1200-1400 calorie intake per day (i'm doing 1400 calories but goal of 1200)
Getting the family to be healthier as well.
Take advantage of the info your nut gives you. This will only make the journey after surgery easier.

Unfortunately I had to wait the six month period also. You will find yourself on information overload. You will find yourself prepared at home 2 months prior to the surgery date. The great thing is by the time your surgery date comes up you should have every answer you could think of answered. Just remember everyone's situation is different make a list and when you speak with your surgeon, nut and phys you should have all the questions you need to get you started. You will gain a lot of information here and good luck to you. My date is March 30th and it seems like it will take forever to get here

Well... I had a different approach.
I focused on my mental preparedness to ensure myself of my decision. I thought of all the various foods and eating situations that I enjoyed and made sure that I experienced every one before surgery so that I could say "good bye" to them. I focused on the actual pleasure, and noted that I could live without it forever in exchange for feeling better and fitting better in the world. I think this really has helped me with avoiding any cheating or temptations because I gave myself time and opportunities to make peace with it all.
My other main focus was on arranging work and personal obligations so that I could ensure that I had four weeks to recover from surgery and establish good habits from the beginning. This was especially helpful for me since I ended up with a complication and needed some extra healing time.
I did spend time learning about what I would need post surgery and having necessary materials. But I knew I would have nothing but time to focus on the new habits post surgery and was mentally prepared to follow through on that.

Now that is done I will start implementing some of the healthy changes you suggested. I am so excited because on Friday I found out that one of my closest friends at work is getting the surgery also. We are in this six month period together!
