Psych Eval Questions
Hello, I am having to take the MMPI-2 evaluation next Thursday before I can be approved for surgery. It is my final hurdle before getting a surgery date. I'm terrified. I have struggled with depression and anxiety in my life, and I just worry (what? who me worrying?) that there will be something in there that will get me disapproved when I've come this far and paid money and had all of the tests. Has anyone else had to take this specific test? What were your results like? Has anyone been denied from it? Anyone think they would be denied but turned out they were approved? Thanks a bunch! Vicki

So how did you fare on the results of the MMPI-2? I am having one next week and it has me all nervous.

Scared husband
@@randoval that is what I was thinking too. I won't be mad if people find me more attractive after surgery. If I knew them before surgery and they were kind to me no big deal. If they were dismissive and mean to me before and then they try to befriend me or hit on me after then hell yeah eff them. On another note, I have been heavier than my boyfriend since day one. I've known him for over a decade. It will be surreal to be smaller than him. I have always secretly wished that I could sit on his lap or be picked up and carried by him without him grunting from effort. Even at my smallest he was no match for me. Lol. I have never been that little girl. Even when I was small I was muscular and heavier than he is.

Freaking out! (Scared of Surgery)
Sooo how did your surgery end up going?

Scared husband
I agree with your post totally. Well said. I may be the weird one, but I am actually worried that after I get the surgery that I'll be so high from the compliments, etc that I may actually be tempted. I don't want that to happen. We are not married, but we've been together for eight years. Rather than him worrying, I am actually a little worried. I hear of so many people breaking up after WLS.

Please help me with this 6 mo agonizing wait!
Help! When I weighed in on my first visit I was at 43 BMI, so I cannot lose a lot of weight and still qualify for surgery (maybe 10 pounds). Anyway, I have been gaining weight at a RAPID pace since the visit. I don't know if I am in "last supper" mode for these six months or subconsiously trying not to lose too much, but I am getting more miserable than I already was. I can't stay like this for six months. What can I do to find a balance where I keep the weight I need for the surgery and not gain more?

Oh wow. That sucks. I know a lot of people travel to Mexico for it. You have made me appreciate my short six months then.

I am really enjoying the book "50 Ways to Soothe Yourself Without food." It is giving me some good ideas on things to do instead of eating emotionally.

4 years? 7-10 years? What do you mean? Your insurance requires years of supervised weight loss?

I know right! I live in Florida, so I am really looking forward to that first post-op summer. I joked that this summer I am going to proudly frolick in the water and let my friends take all of the fat pictures they want of me. It will be the last time I will have to make it through another uncomfortable summer.

Finally... started 6mo diet - August sleevers?
There is this one chick on YouTube who has done a lot of cute and informative videos about the surgery. I love watching and reading whatever I can get my hands on.
