    Sleeve vs. band

I had my band put in 2010. After 4 years of no social life as i was scared that id be running to the bathroom due to food getting stuck, and due to forming a pouch above the band (i put on almost all the little weght that i had lost). Ii finally had it removed and the sleeve done. I would personally not recommend the band as the sleeve is just so much easier, further to this ive lost more weight in these few months with the sleeve than what i ever did when i had the band in for 4 years! I love my sleeve! Good luck with whatever you decide to do xox

    What irritates your sleeve?

Hi i also couldnt tolerate dairy in the beginning, however a few months out and i can have it in very very small doses. I think with time it will get better, Try scrambled eggs, at this stage you are at they should go down quite well. Someone posted in the food forums about Heston Blumenthal's scrambled eggs, check you tube for the video.
  9. Could it be your gallbladder? i had and emergency op last month to get mine removed, i suffered extreme nausea which did not go away and a couple of days later i was on the operating table getting the gallbladder removed as i had a stone stuck in the gallbladder wall causing inflammation. i had small pains under my right breast but i really didnt notice it as much as the nausea was so overwhelming that all i wanted was something to stop that feeling!. FYI under the right breast is where the gallbladder is located. If you have the same symptoms i strongly suggest you go and see a medical practitioner.

    Zucchini recipes?

I know this is a very late addition to this thread however its Zucchini season here in Australia at the moment and since i made this today i thought i would share as it was delicious ! Zucchini Slice by Julie Goodwin Ingredients 2 zucchini, grated 1 large onion finely chopped 3 rashers bacon finely chopped 1 cup tasty cheese grated 1 cup self-raising flour (Self Rising Flour for our US friends) 1/4 cup of oil (Julies recipe has 1/2 cup of oil - can be easily halved) 5 eggs salt/pepper Method Preheat oven to 170°C (338 Fahrenheit). Grease and line a non-stick lamington tin Combine zucchini, onion, bacon, flour and cheese in a large bowl. Add oil and lightly beaten eggs, and mix. Season with a little salt and pepper. Pour into lamington tin. Bake for 35-40 mins until golden and set. Allow to cool slightly before cutting. Note: the vegetables can be substituted or added to – try corn kernels, grated carrot, shallots, shredded Beans, and leave out the bacon for a vegetarian version.

    Master list

Im a lil late joining the forums, but I would love to be added to this list, I was sleeved 13th of October 2014 thanks
  14. I was in hospital for 5 days as i had some complications - i couldn't keep anything down , my body just decided to shut itself off for a few days. Day 4 i had barium swallow to ensure nothing was wrong.. And i thank the Lord that nothing was. I guess i'm lucky that i don't feel any hunger at all. However i also dont feel that im full which is annoying as i tend to over indulge and end up in the bathroom.
  15. Since having the revision i crave extremely spicy food! But, and its a big BUT i soon developed GERD once i was onto normal foods and i cannot touch spicy stuff in any way .. Im a little sad about it but i can live with it as it is *shrug*
  16. I had two separate operations 10 weeks apart; 1 to remove the band and to enable my oesophagus to go back into shape as the band had formed a pouch above it. 2nd to have the revision. Im in Australia and this was covered by my insurance as the band failed. Ive lost more weight now with the sleeve in 4 months than what i ever lost in 4 years with the band!! I love love love my sleeve and wish i had this option sooner! Best of luck to you with your journey ahead xox
