I'm ten months out and 10 to thirty pounds from my personal goal. I will never make"normal" weight for my height as I feel it's too thin. I eat lower carbs higher Protein, my weight loss has slowed down a lot ,but I'll get there. Figure will make ten pounds loss by July.

Be wary of this honeymoon phase we are in. It can still creep back from what I am reading in other groups. I reached goal at around 8m (7-28-14) and now sitting @ 133-135 . I run, Kickboxing, karate, and go on long hikes. I would say I am 90/10 my idea of being naughty is the Creamer for my coffee and sweet tea.. Oh and Tomato basil wheat thins... If you ever need good advise visit www.bariatriceating.com amazing tips and recipes to help stay on track. As well as a back on track plan that helps with regain. I have seen amazing reviews on their FB page.

Your tool is still there. I was told if I get in a rut to start from the beginning. Start over with a week of phase 1. And go from there. You can do this! Therapy would help gets to the ultimate cause of this.

Okay, so here we are at (or slightly below) our goal weight. Now what? We've been existing on Protein and green veggies for a long time, but now we need (or want) to stop losing, stabilize our weight, and start maintaining. So many questions come to mind, but let's start with these: If we just keep eating the same way, will our bodies find their "set point" weight and remain there, or will we continue to lose until we're too thin? If we need to add some variety (uh... carbs) back into the picture, which ones are a good idea and which are a bad idea. I mean, some choices are obvious: good = quinoa, barley, oatmeal, brown rice, whole wheat Pasta, and sweet potatoes. And bad = white bread, white rice, white Pasta, white potatoes, and anything containing refined sugar, right? But what else should we think about? What about corn and peas? What else works or doesn't work? As long as we stayed in ketosis, fat and calories didn't seem to have much of an effect on our weight loss. But now, if we knock ourselves out of ketosis by adding in more carbs, will those fat calories start to work against us and cause weight gain? In other words, if we've been eating tons of nuts, cheese, and butter and still losing, if we keep eating them the same way in maintenance will they start causing weight gain? The tricky (but wonderful) part of this is our permanent restriction. How do we make room for new foods, while still taking in enough Protein? Eventually we do start to get more hungry. What do we do about an increasing appetite that makes us want to eat between meals? Who's been there, who's there now, and do you have any tips for the maintenance newbies?
Thanks, and congratulations to everyone who is beginning or succeeding in maintenance!!!
    Rog

Congratulations on hitting your goal weight…what is your next step? As you know, losing weight is a battle, and it’s one that you’ve won if you’ve hit your goal weight. That’s a huge accomplishment…but the fight doesn’t stop there. Let your guard down, and pounds come back on. That’s what this forum is for: to help you succeed in this next stage of your weight loss surgery journey.
These forums are for you if:
You are at goal weight and are working on keeping the pounds off. You are getting close to goal weight and you want advice and tips from others on how to make the transition to maintenance as successfully as possible. You are considering weight loss surgery and want to know what your life will be like when you hit goal weight one or two or three years after surgery. Talk about recipes, eating new foods, working out for health and maintenance, and other healthy long-term behaviors as a successful WLS patient. You can also come here for support if you find the pounds starting to creep back on, or if you get a little discouraged with the idea of following this lifestyle for “forever.” There are others in your boat!

You're intelligent, self-aware and you've done this before. You can do it again and be successful.
I agree with the person who suggested going back to a week one diet. I'd suggest the pre-op diet.
You need to eliminate carbs. Treat them like alcohol and you're an alcoholic. There's no such thing as "I'll just have one drink/chip/lb of pasta" for people like us.
You made a powerful decision before and changed your life. You are STRONG.
Every time you fall down, just get back up again. It's never the end. Nothing you've done is irreversible.
You won't be perfect, but you can be *better. *

This isn't an easy journey. It is so frustrating at times. I actually had the exact opisite being that I didn't want to eat. My hubby had a BBQ the weekend after my surgery! URGH!!! Meaner!!! lol.
Your body is still healing from the surgery. Please don't get dicouraged for not loosing the weight. As long as you are following your protocol you should be fine. Call them and tell them your concerns though. they may have you step back a bit.
I agree with the above comments about the Protein. Protein will keep you full longer. I love the nectar and Inspire protein. They have one called PURE that is truly unflavored and will not thicken when added to items. I put it in my coffee in the morning.
I went throu a "hunger" phase as well at one point in my journey. It was head hunger. I was really just dehydrated. So a trick that they told me was to sip Water and wait 15 mins. if that doesn't help add protein like nectar to the Water (it counts as water intake) and see if that helps. If after an hour I am still hungry, nibble on a soft food like protein enriched sf Jello (if you can't handle soups)
    Hang in there!

I agree with the other posters. If you don't keep the temping "treats" in the house then you should stay on track 95% of the time.
I am 10 months out and I still pack my purse every morning before I leave the house. I carry flavored Water everywhere all day long. I keep almonds cheese sticks Protein bars and a variety of fruit or veggie bites with me. Again I know that's not where you are yet, but it is a learned and developed discipline.
Because I do not keep the other in the house I just don't snack on them at random and or often. It is a conscious choice I make every time I shop at the grocery.
You are doing great. You have made a lifelong commitment to change yourself and there is not a customized manual made just for you. You have to write it as you go along and as you learn.
I still have emotional days. We all do. And finally I'll say each day is a new one and we can start again to reach a small personal win ...

It just takes time. You didn't put the weight on overnight and you won't lose it overnight. We all have bad days or little bumps in the road.. It's normal. Try making small goals for yourself. See the victories in your accomplishments throughout the day, no matter how small you think it may be.. Give yourself some credit and don't be so hard on yourself. We are our own worst judge and critic sometime. Keep your head up!

I log everything in myfitnesspal. I usually eat Breakfast, a midmorning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner plus at least one Protein Shake. Just started a PPI on Monday. Was home sick today and just grazed all day. I had to talk to a nutritionist only once as part of my clearance. I do feel full when I eat meat or cheese. Today was definitely not my norm. Eating with people is unavoidable for me. I just feel let down because I thought at least some of the demons I battled before surgery were gone but every one still remains.

Hang in there. Everybody is different. I too myself was sleeved 8 days ago and am trying to adjust to different things. For me it's mainly a mental game. The mental hunger, the desires for foods I ate before. I personally have become comfortable with others eating and I am not. It's not easy, but just try to keep the focus on you and your goals. I have had a lot of luck with premiere Protein Shakes from Sam's club. It helps to make me feel fuller and cut cravings. Do you have a Protein Shake you like?

Why do you still talk to them? I have found that distancing myself immediately and significantly from people who do not know how to act like adults sends a faster and clearer message than having a chat with them about their comments. Outside of professional purposes, don't talk to these women. Don't go to lunch with them. Don't take breaks with them. When you see them in the hall or around the office, politely smile and walk past them. People respond far better to being cut out of your life than they do to being called out, as much as the latter of the two options provides much more immediate gratification. If they happen to make a comment you find offensive, look at them, give them an "are you serious right now" look, and then immediately walk away. If they don't learn to be professional and legitimately polite, then they aren't in your life, however if they do learn to mind their manners, you can slowly let them back in.
