6 month Post op checkup today

Congratulations! My 3mo checkup is Thursday 6/11
  9. I don't advertise it, but I don't keep it a secret. The important people in my life know.
  10. The guy is looking for suggestions for snacks and not a debate. Just going to /unsubscribe now
  11. I can't take credit for it. I read it somewhere here on the forum about making deviled eggs. The recipe called for some of the yolk to be mixed in. There are some good qualities to the yolk. However if you need to watch Cholesterol its best to leave it out.
  12. These are good, but remove the yolk. All the Protein is in the white. You can also replace the yolk with hummus.

    Drinking Diet Soda

I'm almost 3mo post op. I just recently tried a Coke Zero. I found that drinking from the can its way too fizzy for my taste now. I poured it over ice and didn't have a problem. This doesn't mean that I ran out and started buying/drinking it again. I'll treat it as a "special" item. I don't crave soda like I once did.

Being a Big Guy and Dating

I would look into Central Christian Church in Las Vegas. They have 4 sites in the Vegas area. http://www.centralonline.tv/ You can even watch online (past/preset) services and get a feel for it before journeying out

    Someone please answer!

If you plan is saying you should only be eating 4oz then why are you pushing that to 8? I would skip eating grits at this point. Grits do not provide a high quantity of Protein, each serving only contains 1.4g. Stick protein rich foods. This is what your body needs right now.

Almost at 2 months and lost 60 lbs

@@RaginCajun Thanks for this info. My machine just broke and I am in the process of getting a new one. I mentioned this to them. They stated they had to set it at what my Rx pressure stated, but could easily change it to AUTO with a updated Rx.

    Working Out After Surgery

I was hitting the elliptical at the 2 week mark. Just listen to your body and if doesn't feel right then go back to walking
  18. I just recently had a cup of coffee. For me it wasn't about when I should have coffee it was more about all the stuff I put IN the coffee. I have a saying(hopefully this doesn't offend anyone). "I like my coffee like I like my women... sweet and light colored". Pre-surgery that meant in a typical cup of coffee at work I was adding 4 to 5 of the little International Delight French vanilla creamers in my coffee. Each one is 30 cal, 5g carbs, 2g fat and 5g of sugar. That meant I was consuming 150 cal, 25g carbs, 11g fat and 25g of sugar. Sometimes I would have 2 cups. YIKES Now in that same cup I will add one Splenda packet and 3 International Delight Half and Half. This dropped the count to 34 cal, 1g carbs, 3g fat and 0g of sugar. I can live with this.
  19. Hit 70lb lost this morning. 12 weeks including the 2 week pre-op diet. Feeling great.

I look at your diary on MFP now and then. I applaud your commitment to track everything and all the exercise you log. I'm amazed at the amount of food you are able to intake. Granted I am only 10 weeks in and no where near goal. I'm sure at some point i will get beyond the small increments I eat at now.

    5 weeks post op

Holding up well and you? I'm 10 weeks tomorrow although it feels like it has been much longer. I have lost 67lbs. My food intake seems to have increased the last week or so. I'm at a full cup of food. I also seem to need a small snack some days. On those days I really like the Quest Protein bars or one of the Oscar Mayer "P3" packs. I just make sure to log everything in MyFitnessPal.

    Finished a 5k this morning!

@@blashlee There are still spots for the The November event "Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend" When I signed up they mentioned there is a 16min pace requirement even for the 5K. After today's workout I'm not to worried about it. I have till November though to keep improving. Still good to know they are a little lax on the time. I will sign up for the "Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend" in Jan for a 5K at least when they open up registration.
