  1. I have been banded since december 11th 07. I just had my first fill on tuesday. I have lost 105 lbs and have less than 30 to go. I actually did not loose weight for the past 2 months but it is comming off again. Myt question is this. It feels like the first thing I eat weather it is at 8 am or noon it is tighter than eating dinner. for instance I had 1/2 a hard boiled egg yesterday morning and it went down rough and felt like it was in my cheast for a while. then for dinner I had 1/2 a small antipast salad. and it went down withought any problem. ( I mean i felt it for much longer than I am used to )but it went down withought any discomfort. I am wondering if anyone has this issue.
  2. Well it has been 7 months almost 8 and I am on the home strech I was originally 335 I am now 229 as of this morning. I would like to see 200 that is my personal goal. The doctors told me to loose 100 lbs and that would be good enough. I hope this is an insiration to people. This whole process is about so much more than getting the surgery I have 180 my entire thought process on food and exercise. (Any yes I have had ice cream ,and all the other bad things Just in moderation). I have also relized that this is about health and not vanity. I am able to do so much more now. I hope people will read this and know that if I can do it anyone can. Good luck to everyone.

    Tightness in the morning????

my doctor is very conservative and since I had lost over 100 lbs in 5 months he wanted to wait . I am so close to my goal weight that he did not want me to starve

Great news from doctor 3 months out

No real loose skin yet. I am sure going to the gym helped out. I am also 6'3"" so the 335 lbs was well distributed. I am only worried about the stomach area. But it is what it is. I am just glad I feel so good. and can run without hurting.
  6. Well on the 11th was 3 months i went to see my doc for a routein visit and i am down 93 lbs. I have about 40 more to go. I am eating whatever kinds of food i want. As of now i am completely content with the amount of food i am taking in for the first time in my life. I even went to a friends wedding and ate like a champ. I attribute the weight lose to nutritious food and 75 min of working out 5-6 times a week. It is weird i have completly 180 degrees from how i was. I actually find myself telling people how to loose weight. Anyway just wanted to share my news with everyone. It is possible just stick to what the doctors say. Btw does anyone know of people whoo never need fills. the doc told me i might fit into that catagory but i hae never herd of it. Justin Weiss
  7. First I am not bragging just want to give people some insperation. I had my surgery on dec 11th. everything went smooth. I was back to work in a couple of days and at the gym by day 6. I have been eating 800-1000 cal per day and working out 4-5 days a week. So now to the good stuff 6 weeks = 65lbs. I am so happy I hve not been down this low since I was in high school. The doctor told me i may not even need a fill. I have been able to met anything I want just in moderation. I think it is because i have been following my vitamins, workout , and food. Anyway good luck to everyone else. I have 35 lbs to go to get to where the doc wants me to be an d 55 lbs to get to where I want to be.

6 week post op visit and great news

I am male and 27 wich could have to do it. My day starts with yogurt and a protein shake, lunch usually small salad or soup and then normal dinner That is it. I truely believe it is because of my dedication to all this. Follow what the doctors and nutritionist tell you. For most of us this is a life changing experience so embrace it. I personally go with the thought that it took 27 years to gain all this weight so 1 -2 years is no big deal to dedicate to this.

    Frustrated and disappointed

The thing is people focus to much on feeling restriction and not enough on eating correct. I am less then 2 months post op and down 65 lbs. It has not been easy. I go to the gym 4-5 days a week for 1 hour of cardio. I also am eating 800-1200 cal a day. That is it no snacking no soda very little carbs. I do nto have as much restriction as I should but I have learned to eat to live and not live to eat. You should start looking at all lables and working out 3 days a week start slow 15-30 min is all you need. I know it will work. I have a almost non existing matabolism but with the right caloric intake and exercise the weight will come off. Just keep your head up.
  10. I got banded on tuesday . I weighed in at 332lbs I have followed the doctors orders to a T and have lost exactly 20 lbs as of today. The surgery for me went without a hitch and i was back to work by thursday. I am making a good attempt to get in all liquids and about 500 cal per day. I feel so good i am thinking about a small walk in the morning. The problem is my wife and I are nervous I am loosing to quick the doc told me i would loose 10-15 in the first two weeks not 20 in the first. I have checked everything including making sure i was not dehydrated. I am ok with it as long as this is what is meant to happen. Just looking for some input on the situation to find out if it is necessary to bug the doc in the morning

    The Time Has Come

Well I want to account the last few days for all of you day of surgery: Pain was ok and bearable but it took me most of the day to recover from all the drugs. day 2: Pain was much worse took alot of percs. and slept through it . between the gas and the abdominal pain it was bad day 3: woke up had some yogurt went to work for a 3/4 day. went home napped and felt overall good. day 4: awesome went to work no more gas pains just soreness in the abdominal area day 5 : today. at work happy and down alot of weight I am actually going to try to get down mor calories today. I have been getting down the correct amount of Protein and Water each day but I am going to shoot for 500 calories today I weighted 332lbs on sunday as of this morning I weighed 313 lbs. The pain and waiting was well worth it. Within a couple more weeks I will be the lightest I have been in 3 years. I am going to go to the gym (start off slow) on monday morning. I am very Pumped.
