    VSG and a Hernia Repair

This identical to me. Total surprise. The only thing is when I woke up in recovery I couldn't hardly breathe. Very short breaths. I'm fine now, no issues at all except the water.

Question regarding 7 weeks post op

I was sleeved February 18th. HW 254, SW 242, CW 218. I'm 5'9 and 42 years old. I've walked 5 to 6 times a week making my way from a mile to three miles now. I walk the 3 miles in an hour. I'm now losing at a rate of 2 lb per week. I've lost a total of 72 inches (I measure EVERYWHERE). I can bend over and pick up something in my car floor board now. Those types of NSV'S are what I enjoy most. I've also gone from a size 22 to an 18.

February Sleevers - how are you doing?

I am cold a lot too! I've never been cold like this before. I was always like a heater. People would stand next to me to get warm. I have issues drinking enough Water too. It seems I either get Protein or water but not both. I didn't have pain or discomfort either and I've been able to tolerate everything I've eaten so far and haven't vomited at all. You're having awesome results! Congratulations!
  4. I want to see how everyone is doing and see if you were having the progress you were hoping for. What kind of ups and downs, scale and n on-sale victories, typical meals, exercise and overall sense of well-being. As for myself...SW 254, DOS 242, CW 221. I walk an hour 5 days a week, consume 650 to 800 calories a day, and have lost 65 inches combined in 17 total measurements. The jeans I couldn't hardly button and muffin topped finally fit like they should (a little loose in parts). I'm noticing and friends and family are noticing. I'm so glad I was able to have the surgery. Please share your progress!

    Eggs

I was also sleeved on 2-18 and am having the same problem. I ate deer meat that was chopped to death almost to a powder form, put some gravy on it and didn't have a problem. Did the same thing the next day and it gave me a slight pain. The HMR shakes are starting to make me nauseous. I know I need to be patient but cravings are terrible!

    Plateau already?!

I am 2 weeks out and have lost 10 lbs since surgery. I lost 7 pre op. Since the start of pre-op I've lost 37.5 inches! I measure everything from my double chin all the way to my ankle. NSV's are that little pat on the back I need to keep going.

    Ouch!

I tried ground turkey baked in the oven, about 3 Oz worth. I covered it in Turkey gravy to try and make sure it was moist and chewed the fool out of it but I guess my new stomach isn't quite ready for it yet. I have a pain on my left side but can swallow liquids pretty good. Anyone know how long it usually takes to pass it or have any pointers for helping it go through?
  8. I weighed 249 and was about to bust out of a size 20! You're very lucky!. Great job! I weighed 249 and was about to bust out of a size 20! You're very lucky!. Great job!

    Feb 16th- Surgery Day!

I had a surprise hiatal hernia as well. When I woke up in recovery I couldn't hardly take a breath. That was super scary. I had my surgery on the 18th. All the pain I have felt has been from the hernia repair and from intestinal gas. Gas x strips are the best! I have a hard time telling when I'm full so I'm having to measure everything more carefully. It also took 2 suppositories and an enema to get my bowels to wake up. My doctor did a great job 'deflating' me so I haven't had the shoulder pain most have. The 2 week diet wasn't as bad as I thought. I made my own broths so I got creative. I'm glad to have all these threads to read.

    February 18th sleevers?

I'm doing pretty good from yesterday surgery. I've walked 6 of the 8 requirements and am drinking liquids. Not a lot of pain. How are the rest of you 18th sleevers?

    February 18th sleevers?

I'm taking 2 t-shirts, 3 changes of underwear and socks, my tablet and all bariatric info the doctor has given me. Toiletries. I'll download a book to read. I figure I won't be able to go 2 hrs without seeing nurses. Time for me to relax and do some thinking I've not had time to do. What about you?

    February 18th sleevers?

I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and plantar faciitis all of which I'm on meds for. My dad's family all have heart disease and diabetes. I'm trying not to get to that point before I get myself under control. I'm 42 and feel 60+ at times.

    2 Week Pre-Op Liquid Diet

I am scheduled for the 18th too. I didn't cheat til today but am worried with it being so close to the surgery date. Surely my liver has shrunk. I've lost 10 pounds since the 3rd. Figured it would be more but am happy with 10!
