  1. Stay hydrated for sure. As for the bm, try Smooth Move tea. It has Senna in it which is a laxative. I took it 3 days post op just to nib things in the bud. Don't stress the weight gain, I gained 3 lbs and all of sudden it was gone. Good luck!

  7. It depends on the dr's process. I had the sleeve and had a drain. It was removed upon discharge, 2 days in the hospital.
  8. I did slip technically. On day 3 I was very weak, my blood sugar dropped and just felt odd. I had a piece of string cheese to get me through. At that point I had to eat something small or I wasn't going to be well enough for surgery. I did have mashed potatoes the next day, 2oz. Milk really helped me so I drank 20 oz a day, in addition to other liquids. I lost 10lbs in that week. At my pre op exam that was 3 days before surgery my NP felt my abdomen and surrounding areas and was confident there would be no issues.

  12. I was also a March 5 sleever. I can feel everything that goes down, water, ice chip, jello. I know we have a lot of inflammation so I'm attributing it to that.
  13. I too was worried about the nausea. Today is day 2 post op, going home shortly. The nurses will stay on top of the nausea meds for you, just tell them. Good luck!

  19. I'm on day 3 of liquids for pre-op. No issues with wanting food and not really to many hunger pains but I feel very sick, jittery, light headed and just not myself, I feel like my sugar is too low, though I'm not diabetic. I did have a piece of string cheese and it helped for a couple hours. Just gotta push through it.

  23. First consult with surgeon was 10/10/14, surgery is 3/4/15. Original surgery date was today but I had to push it out a week. Good luck!
  24. I have Aetna. My coordinator was the one who informed that I was approved however my friend/co-worker found out from Aetna because she beat our coordinator to the punch. She did like I did, called Aetna every two days for an update. We both had a response in one weeks time. Good luck!

  26. Hi. I had wondered the sabe so I called my insurance company. The surgery cost is different by area then each insurance company has their negotiated rate. Call the number on your card. I'm sure they'll be able to tell you the max you'll have to pay. Good luck!
  27. Congratulations! I hope it all went well! ????☀️

  29. I was approved on 2/9. My current BMI is 40.7. I'm concerned that with the liquid diet my BMI will drop below 40 and the insurance company not want to pay after surgery. I have a pre-op appt on Thursday and will ask then. Anyone have experience with this?
