I'm new with questions

Hi I'm new here i got an email from my coordinator at my doctors office and said she would be sending my paperwork off to my insurance no later then today. I'm so excited. We are trying to get me in for surgery the first or second week of March. My question is will my insurance get a hold of me with a yes or no or will my doctors office? (Approval or denial) should I call my insurance company? I have assurant health insurance but use Aetna provider list so everyone always says I have Aetna. I'm so beyond ready to have my surgery and start my new life. Thank you in advance for any help you can give

That sounds like something only your insurance company can answer for sure. Wouldn't hurt to call and ask them. Most insurances say you won't get an answer for 45 days but some can turn it around in as little as 2. I wouldn't get your hopes up about having surgery in the next two weeks until you know something from your insurance, they may not even respond to the request by then. Good luck!

I have Aetna. My coordinator was the one who informed that I was approved however my friend/co-worker found out from Aetna because she beat our coordinator to the punch. She did like I did, called Aetna every two days for an update. We both had a response in one weeks time. Good luck!
