  1. LynRey70 - don't get rid of everything! You're going to want to have a reminder, something to look at and remember how it felt and then marvel at the new you. I've been going thru my closet and have 4 boxes of clothes that have outgrown me. (There's a stack of more boxes because I haven't finished cleaning out the old stuff.) Funny thing, tho - I haven't taken any of them to a thrift store yet. I keep thinking 'oh, maybe this shirt won't be so baggy' and then I see how ridiculous it looks. It took a while for my mindset to catch up with my decreasing size.

    Feast before famine?

I think most of us did the 'last suppering'. I tried to temper how often I indulged but didn't deny myself. Enjoy it while you can!

Pre WLS - Liquids after surgery....

Greetings! I keep hearing about adding unflavored protein powder to smoothies, etc. I purchased some through Amazon, they have a great variety of brands and favors. I've also found a couple things that have an unexpected amount of protein: Boca burgers, the 'All American Grilled yadayadayada' have 15 grams. Melt 1/4 c. shredded cheese on it, and add the additional 6 protein grams. Good luck!

    Food that taste bad?!

The change from wanting sweets to craving salty stuff seems to be pretty common (it happened to me, too). Unfortunately, I'm 7 months out, my taste buds are returning to normal - or at least my brain's addiction center thinks so. However, when I go in search of what my brain is telling me I want, I can stand in front of it and realize my tastebuds aren't actually interested. Now I wish my taste buds hated sweet - that would be a HUGE help. . .
  5. I'm 7 months out, down just a skoash past 2/3rds of the weigh to my goal. I usually do shakes in the morning - they have 35 grams of protein - a huge jump on getting in enough protein.
  6. I was encouraged to track sodium as well; I just checked the can, it's 540g of Sodium per serving. I'm 4 months post surgery, and refried Beans were one of the first things I ate as soon as pureed food was allowed!
