  1. Day three home from surgery. So far, nothing I've drank has made me sick. I just get that temporary pain as things hit my stomach. Weaning myself off pain meds.

Today is my first full day at home. I'm adjusting. I'm doing OK with the protein drinks and liquids. Still adjusting to vitamins/meds. I hate the pain med. It makes me gag. But I see it as incentive to get off of it quickly. This afternoon I finally feel I can take a deep breath with out much pain. I'm also finding that each time I swallow something there is a pain. So, now I"m adjusting to feeling for that. I'm using a 4 oz glass as my choice to drink from. Small enough to be able to fill it up and keep track of oz. I'm using Premier Protein drink in chocolate. Ice cold. I made one by adding a sleeve of instant coffee this afternoon and about a table spoon of sugar free instant pudding. Not bad at all. I do remarkably feel better. Its true. so far its gotten better each day.

  5. Today's the day. Leaving for the hospital in 4 hours.

  8. My insurance papers have been submitted. Now to wait. Its getting real!

  9. Almost done with all the pre-op testing/consultations. The only thing left on the list is the Nutritionist and Dietitian. Then its a meeting with the surgeon. I'm hoping to be in post-op by the end of April. Keeping my fingers crossed that nothing shows up serious that can't be dealt with.

I'm just bummed at the thought of having to wear a mask. But I'm trying to look at the positive side that even if I do wear the mask for a while, that I should feel better. So onward.

  12. I had my psych evaluation yesterday and passed. I also had my sleep study last night. Seems I have sleep apnea. Can someone clue me in on what that will mean to the surgeon?

Congrats! You are on your way.

  13. I've got the phych. consult today, as well as the sleep study tonight. Next week I have a stress test and the week after that I have the endoscopy. Have appointment mid March with nutritionist. Excited to get this started.

  14. Had my first appointment today and got my list of testing etc. I'll start setting up appointments tomorrow. I've got a followup appointment with my primary too. One big surprise is that my insurance doesn't require me to do 6 months of supervised weight loss like I thought. So, hopefully I can get all the pre-op stuff done, by March an appointment to see surgeon. On my way.
