Lakelandgirl got a reaction from skc72 in How often do you weigh yourself?
I weigh myself daily but only record my weight every Monday. I get to see the daily fluctuations and can adjust my eating and exercise accordingly. My weight loss is slow but that is perfectly fine with me. I have yet to gain any weight.

Lakelandgirl got a reaction from chubbsey1 in Bowel movement
Sam, I would suggest trying an enema soon and some Miralax. I am 6 days out and had an extremely painful morning with an impacted bowl movement. It took two enemas and over two hours to pass. I am feeling better but I can tell that there is still more to come.
Chubbsey1, I hope you feel better.

Lakelandgirl got a reaction from Crosby in Two days out.
My gastric bypass was on Monday and everything went fantastic. The worse part was riding an hour to the hospital having to use the bathroom because they needed to do a pregnancy test. Surgery lasted 3 hours and was robotically assisted. I have six 1 1/2 inch slits on my abdomen. After the surgery I was only allowed to have ice chips for the rest of day. I did get up and walk the hospital floor twice on Monday. I wasn't able to fall asleep but managed to stay relaxed through the night.
Dr. Dietrick came in Tuesday morning and explained that I would need to drink 1oz. of Protein and 1 oz. of Water every hour (alternating) and if I could keep it down I could go home. I also walked the halls six times. Fortunately, I had no problem drinking and keeping it down so I was able to leave the hospital at 6:30 pm.Once again the ride was horrendous. The pain on the way home was my body is shock for what has been done to it.
Today has been pretty good, I have been experiencing some pain on the left side but once I find a comfortable position it goes away. I walked 1/3 mile around the block. I have finished one shake and I am half way done with my second. They don't taste the same as before but I am hoping that will change as I get farther out from surgery.
I hope my surgery buddies are having good experiences.

Lakelandgirl reacted to Tscription in Coffee
My coffee is one of the major ways I reach my Protein goals. I could NEVER tolerate shakes. I just could not get them past my nose. Not sure why I thought to try it but early on I mixed 1/2 scoop of unflavored Protein powder, 1/2 scoop of chocolate Protein Powder in a large mug of coffee every morning with fat free french vanilla creamer and Splenda. It is one of the best mocha beverages I have had. Even more than a year out, I still start my day with a cup every day. I'm already looking forward to my morning cup.

Hi, I live down the road off of 540A and I am currently waiting for insurance approval. Is your Doctor in Lakeland? I am traveling to Tampa for surgery.
